Meet A Moderator, MEL Thu 13/9, dinner in CBD?

Maybe the run sheet of this dinner needs explanation. I understand that we are all coming from various parts of MEL. Some will come direct from work or inner city and thus be able to meet at 6pm. I happen to have my last meeting @ 3pm on Bourke Street so will have the opportunity to finish this and check in at DoubleTree before walking (or getting a tram) over to Park Street. We can start by having a drink and chat before the other attendees arrive, or perhaps have a share plate/starters. Dinner doesn't have to be ordered at 6pm and from my recollection of many other dinners I have attended, it's quite some time before we get to looking at the menu.

The majority of the attendees know my real name, but if not, look out for the table that are talking flying related matters. I'll try and bring an AFF tag and put it on the table if that will help ;-)

@TomVexille yes was aware you may be later than @blackcat20.

Generic questions are fine, but specific questions about one of our decisions are no-go. I'll let you know which it is :D
So if I come and comment on the wine chosen by a moderator I’ll be banned from future events for 6 months?

I am not going to be there at 6pm

Mickeyc747, are you in town and coming along tonight? Or just spying on us from another table with penegal

I had already booked Olive Tree prior to your visit. I will be there at 8pm with a gaggle of gays.

We’ve had late cancellations from blackcat20 and TomVexille :( - hope you’re feeling better soon @blackcat20

Also Freq Flyer 2013 has a clashing dinner.

I’m back at the DoubleTree and enjoying my Diamond benefits (2 free glasses of Shiraz to start my night). Long day walking up and down Collins, Bourke and Elizabeth Streets.

Have brought a bottle of Penfolds from my cellar.

About to head to the tram stop and try and catch a couple (first to Crown Casion and then the next up Queensway). I used to catch one up to Park Street to see clients but it’s been a couple of years

I’ll be leaving work in the CBD close to 6 so should be there a bit after

Either am I. Just saw this and will try and make. Probably won't arrive till about 7:30pm. Hope that's OK.
I rang OT and added myself to the group.

From your hotel, it is actually a bit easier to catch most of the trams that go down St Kilda Rd to "Domain Interchange". The view is a bit nicer most of the way until you get to the interchange itself (construction site).

e.g. Tram numbers 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, 72.
