Unusual part of the night was hearing another table of guys talking about flying - we heard Qantas a number of times so I had to go and crash that conversation. Seems that by the end of the night their heads were spinning with double status credits, fare buckets, why fly direct when you can connect as well as a master class from potm about using credit cards.

She looked just okay this morning when I saw her. But certainly not looking her normal ebullient self.

Thankfully I escaped your clutches last night after the drinks at the first pub @penegal. I struggled until I ate 2 bananas, Seattle new sushi and miso soup and am still drinking copious amounts of water. You are a bad influence.

So let me get this clear - last night there is a formal dinner arranged by an AFF Moderator and held at Olive Tree - penegal who prances around this site like a show pony attends Olive Tree for dinner but not only doesn't he join this group but my spies tell me hardly even acknowledges their existence!

Your spies had it correct up to “hardly even”. He and I moved between the two tables during the night and he generously provided some Basket Press ‘98 (IIRC) to me (as I was the only one drinking wine). He came and sat with us towards the end of the night.

The other group had booked their table and invited @penegal long before I settled on The Olive Tree as my venue.

So let me get this clear - last night there is a formal dinner arranged by an AFF Moderator and held at Olive Tree - Tommy and BC who have been 100% confirmed attendees for this Olive Tree dinner from the get go become aware that Goodonya has at last minute invited himself then suddenly some mysterious illness raises its ugly head so they don’t actually have sit and break bread with the Goody Guy!
