With a 0915 boarding I may not get a chance to try out the new spa products. But breakfast with Bollie was suitable compensation. Even though Bollinger is not listed on the menu. *taps nose conspiritorially*
 
Have the rare privilege of Mel Flounge this Friday for breakfast, followed by Sydney Flounge for Lunch on Sat. Hopefully the hangover from Fri won't carry over to Sat :)

Ooh can you ask in MEL if they have wine in the decanter? (or if they have plans to introduce it if not available)

Absolutely. I will be travelling with a vinophile so we shall do our best to track it down and ask if not around. Perhaps it's time for a famous wine flight prior to the flight (try them all :) )

They have one wine, that's on the menu, that they decant. Today that's the Hollick 'Stock Route' Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2010.

Edit: Sorry. The staff tell me that they 'aerate' it. Have ordered a glass to see . :)

Ausman, Can I ask whether this was in Sydney or Melbourne. I had this dish in the Sydney lounge yesterday, and whilst the flavour was fantastic, I found there were 50% more shells than mussels, and the mussels were tiny, only about 2cm long at the absolute most, with some more around 1cm. In this dish there seems to be fewer shells than my dish (but hopefully the same number of mussels), and bigger mussels.
I also had the seared tuna as an entrée, and that was amazing.

I wasn't over-enthused with SYD breakfast this morning, the sausages were stone cold and had obviously been cooked some time before.
They did manage to get the eggs right though, for the first time in a very long time.
 
I have to say all my breakfast visits have resulted in excellent eggs in the bene, even last week when it was a splash and dash to grab LAN.

Future flights will probably be on the always cheap JQ departure at 1830, to avail myself of something other than Breakfast in the F lounge.

Absolutely. The maitre'd even asked after my holiday in EU. That was three months ago - impressive.

I had a neck and shoulders massage with the new skin care range which was lovely. No samples yet, but the staff hope to have some soon.

FWIW the decanter was on the bar "bench" and the name displayed - I forgot to write it down but it wasn't a "big name" so to speak...
