We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

can I use the Air France lounge on a QF code share flight ?

Yep if you’re in business or above or have QF status

Where can we clearly see this in writing as I've been refused access to qantas clubs when travelling with one world alliances and they tell me we must be on a QF coded flight as well, and even our excess luggage allowance is challenged with other airlines, even when in a QF coded flight. I don't fly often and find it very disappointing when I run into these issues and get no access or get charged $$$ for a few kg over their allowance yet well under the QC allowance. I despise the extra stress.

Qantas Club membership (1, 2 or 4 year)​

When you arrive at a lounge, show your Qantas Frequent Flyer card along with your ticket or boarding pass.

Each time your next onward flight that day is on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number you'll have access to:

• Qantas Club and Qantas Regional lounges when travelling within Australia.*
• Qantas International Business Lounges when travelling internationally.
• Emirates Business Lounge in Dubai when travelling on Qantas flight number.
• American Airlines® Admirals Club lounges. Visit American Airlines for lounge locations.
• Alaska Airlines lounges in Los Angeles, Seattle, Anchorage and Portland when connecting to or from a Qantas flight and an Alaska Airlines flight.
• Partner lounges in most international ports where there is no Qantas owned and operated lounge.

With regard to luggage, you are entitled to additional baggage on Qantas and QantasLink operated flights with a QF flight number, & some partner redemption flights, but it's nowhere near as extensive as oneworld status is.

Anyone have any insight into how strictly the guesting rules are likely to be enforced at JL F lounge HND? Have 1x F PAX + 2x J PAX with 1 being the 11 year old NoName Jnr. Do they turn a blind eye and not count the child as a guest or am I taking him in and sending Mrs NoName off to the Sakura lounge?

As menti9ned above, Qantas Club is only for Qantas, Jetstar and American Airlines.

Jetstar and American it’s only lounge access, nothing else.

Qantas club gives many of the benefits of oneworld sapphire status, but only when flying qantas. This includes some extra baggage allowance, priority check-in and lounge access.

That looks like the old QF lounge in BKK - it was years ago I was in transit there

Qantas used to have a First lounge at BKK. In more recent times that space became part of the current Cathay Lounge when CX expanded. Before moving to the satellite, the Emirates lounge occupied the space of what was previously the Qantas Business lounge.

That Miracle lounge at BKK, in my opinion, at least early in the morning is just awful. I checked it out when flying AY, left promptly and headed to QR. It's great having decent one world status with BA.

They are very strict to follow the rules.

QR lounge will be closed by the end of the year if everything goes to plan. New lounge in the Satellite terminal and unfortunately only those departing from the new terminal will get access.
I do wonder if QF or someone else would be interested in taking over the space
