Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Likely to have been discussed many times, but I tried to gain access to QF BNE lounge off my WP and my mates (bronze)BP .... Not on.

I guess another benefit VA has.

Well I was, on VA, which is where we then went. I know VA allow access on another's BP, but was unsure about QF. Now I know.
I think VA was doing that as a promotion (ran for a couple of months) and was if the QFF in question was flying their new VA Economy X product. I'd be surprised if anything was going to remain in place beyond that.

No that was different. There was quite a lengthy thread about what I refer and lots of vitriol, so I won't revisit it, but it's been in place for years. I was just testing QF to see if they were the same (which they aren't).

No VA have permitted such access as long as one of the party was flying VA - it does not need to be the statused member flying.

our family is travelling from Sydney to Fiji with Fiji Airways in Business class. I am a QFF Platinum member. Will we be able to access the First Class lounge or only the business lounge? thanks

Hi All,

I have a couple of QF lounge passes I was planning to use for a long Singapore layover for my wife and I. My question is - can I get my 5 year old daughter in as well or will I need an extra pass for her?

Many thanks in advance

Generally you can do so; but it is not guaranteed.

Here's the child policies of Qantas Club; the passes are not QP but often the child rules are applied.

Thanks Serfty,

Does this over rule the statement on the complimentary passes web page where it is states: "Complimentary invitations are a single-entry invitation for one person..."

I presume they may argue this statement limits the pass to one, whilst I may argue a child does not count as one?

My best suggestion is to pleasantly just show the two passes along with all three BP's with a smile.

You may be rejected - I think that is unlikely, but if so then so be it.

Having had last week some issues getting my two recently turned 18 yo twins into the Sydney F Lounge I thought I’d best reach out to the combined brains trust before our next visit in December.

So the scenario is myself (P1), my wife (WP), two 18 yo siblings and one 14 yo sibling travelling on a QF ticket. My presumption is that my wife and I can each guest one of the 18 yo’ds and the 14 yo can also enter under the QF children policy. Am I correct?

You should be fine.

not sure if this is the best place to ask....

If I have 2x credit cards and both offer free priority pass membership with 2x visits per year free each. Can I now combine them and have 4x visits free per year?

I think the answer will be "no", but wondering if anyone has first-hand experience.

I'm departing AKL tomorrow on an Air NZ domestic flight. I am entitled to one guest for the NZ lounge (Velocity Gold) and would like to bring my grandmother in but she's not flying anywhere. Does the guest have to be on an NZ flight?

There's not much here: https://www.virginaustralia.com/cn/en/experience/airline-partners/air-new-zealand/#lounge-access

But Note that:

1. In NZ, non travelers are not supposed to go airside domestically (although rarely policed), and
2. AirNZ rules re such that a guest of their own elites must be traveling AirNZ . (Domestic lounges - Air New Zealand Lounges - At the airport - Experience | Air New Zealand – Australia)

So I suspect no guest in that circumstance.
