Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Re: Advice for LAX lounging

Great - the AirNZ does have Ad-Hoc cutovers at $55.... no priority Pass - only MEL and CNS.
Might have to cough up the $$ even though I'm a gold member ?!?! Hmmm... stay tuned...

Thanks MEL_Traveller for your help!

Re: Lounge Access in CDG Paris when flying Qantas code share to Adelaide

As part of my education in being a Qantas club member, to my disbelief I have just found that there is no reciprocal arrangement to access a lounge at CDG when homeward bound to Adelaide.

Apart from the obvious feeling of why Qantas would think it acceptable to take a booking ( yes it is code share with Emirates but still a Qantas booking) but not provide the expected access to a lounge, is there anyone able to suggest if a day pass can be purchased for a lounge near the departing terminal.

i have contacted Qantas to see if they might be able to suggest a solution but without success, although I did get some assistance in that I was able to ascertain, that the flight departs from Terminal 2,and that there is AA lounge within close proximity. An enquiry to AA as to whether a day pass can be purchased has yet to be responded to.( and I don't want buy a pass only to find that the lounge is another terminal that is miles away from where we need to be.

Anyone else been in this situation and has found a solution ?

Sorry, I realised that the first one was not in the correct location as there was a "sticky" for that purpose. I tried to delete the original post but it said there must be at least 10 characters( or something like that) so I didn't know what to do.
Apologies, I wasn't trying to spam

Ridiuclously stupid question, but I've never been clear on it, as I have no status.

My partner is QF Gold.

Economy flights:
ADL To Hong Kong (8 hour layover) to Johensburg on Cathay, then 4 hour layover, then South African Airways to Victoria Falls.

Then on the way home.

Dar es Salaam to Doha on Qatar Airways (12am-2am layover)
Doha to Hong Kong (5 hour layover) to Adelaide on Cathay.

I have a Diners Club card.

Would the answer be different if we had Veloce Lounge membership? (IE: ANZ Black).

I also have a 9 hour layover at Joburg flying in on South African Airways, flying out on Kenya Airways
And flying in and out of Nairobi with Kenya Airways with a 2.5 hour layover.

From what I can tell:
Only have access to Diners Club lounges (and, only one card, so would need to pay for a second person)... which are
So, at Joburg, Nairobi, Hong Kong only at random non-airline lounges?

QF gold will get the card holder and one guest (ie you) in to lounges prior to any one world flight. so all the QF, CX, QR flights are all covered. (that includes access to qantas clubs, qantas business class lounges, Cathay pacific lounges etc. At an airport where an airline doesn't have its own lounge, they will have arrangements with a local provider. ask at check in for details)

South African airways and Kenya airways are not covered by one world lounge access... so you would need star alliance and skyteam gold for those. or maybe you can use your diners card... check the diners website for their liunge locations.

Your partner could always request a status match (for their QF ff Gold) from a Star Alliance airline so if that was successful he/she would then get access (plus be able to guest you in) to any *A Lounges prior to *A flights.

You mentioned you had a Diners Card. Does your partner have any credit cards eg Amex that might offer lounge access?

The Amex Plat charge card gets you into AA, DL & VA lounges (hope I've got that right).

There's also an app called lounge buddy that may be able to help out re the non OW cities you're visiting.

Re: Lounge Access Help Desk - qantas / emirates in Melbourne

Hi - hope someone can help my confusion...

I'm a qantas club member and flying to KL at the end of August, via Melbourne.

The flight (qf487) syd-Mel gets in at 930pm and then a 5 hour wait til (qf8409 - actually an emirates flight) at 205am Mel-kl.

I know the qantas club in Melbourne closes before midnight but I wondered would I be able to access the Emirates lounge once the qantas club closes?

thanks!

I am QF plat/OWE and would appreciate confirmation/advice on best lounges for an upcoming trip.

Itinerary is SYD-HKG-BKK (CX PE). BKK-HEL-BUD-PRG-LHR-HEL-BKK (AY J). BKK-HKG-SYD (CX PE).

I'm planning on QFlounge (SYD), but understand there is a CX lounge in SYD too? Believe as OWE self +1 can access CX Flounge in HKG?

Appreciate advice on best lounges OWE can access in other cities listed please.

QF F like is the place to be in Sydney. Correct regarding CX F liunge in HKG (which is the best lounge option for OWE)

Hi Everyone, first time poster long time reader.
Qantas club member, travelling SYD-DXB-LGW/CDG-DXB-SYD in November, emirates flight code. Will I still get lounge access in SYD being a EK flight code? Are there any lounges that I can access in CDG? both DXB stop overs less then 2 hours.
Thanks

Matthew

Re: Advice for LAX lounging

Hi all
It's been a few years since I transited HKG and there have been a few lounge changes since I did. I'm flying in on QF ex MEL arriving at 17.10 and leaving on AY at 00.25. Thinking about a quick trip into the city, but wondering about lounges. As OWE I'll have the choice of a few and with plenty of time, proximity to departure gate isn't all that critical (AY70 seems to go from Gate 24 as a rule).

Suggestions welcome.

Re: Advice for LAX lounging

Does anyone know if I would have access to the EY lounge at MAN if I am flying EL to DUB and then EY DUB - AUH on a separate PNR. I'm a VA WP. I figure the answer will be no but thought I would check anyway. Thanks in advance.

Re: Lounge Access

I'm going to flying HBA-MEL in Y then connecting to MEL-PER in Business, will I be able to enter the lounge in HBA?

I just wondered as I found this and wondered if I was reading it right;

The Qantas Club | Lounge Locations | Australia | Hobart Domestic

Assuming you have no other status then, I would suggest no (although it is not clear):
Domestic BusinessNext onward flight that day must be on a Qantas or Emirates flight.
One guest allowed and does not need to be travelling.
Your next onward flight is not in business class.

If you did have lounge access it would read similarly to (with the reference to 'connecting') here:

International BusinessEligible if connecting to or from a Qantas or Emirates international flight on the same day.
One guest allowed and does not need to be travelling.

Re: Lounge Access

Next onward flight is the key, it needs to be in J for access at that port.
