Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Re: Lounge access in Singapore

Depart MEL 26/6 @ 1915 on QF9
Arrive DXB 27/6 @ 0325
Depart DXB 27/6 @ 0925 on EK029

I would have much preferred to stay on QF9 the whole way with minimal stopover but when booking this was the cheapest option by ~$400 - doesn't really make sense to me as to why, but that was the case.

I fly out on QF9 on the 23rd and could have gotten you into the F lounges in MEL and DXB - sorry I can't help you this time jaseblenner.

Are you aware that if you ring Qantas they will put you on the 9 for no charge?

To help consolidate passengers using a combination of Qantas and Emirates services between Sydney / Melbourne and London Heathrow, Qantas will adjust its distribution system. This will see Qantas passengers travelling on Qantas operated services to or from Dubai (QF1/2/9/10) without a stopover, remain on the same Qantas aircraft, rather than changing aircraft in Dubai.

This change will appear in selling systems progressively for new bookings from 14 April 2014.

Customers with existing bookings to London Heathrow are not impacted by this change.

Offer for customers to change existing bookings
Customers who hold a booking from Sydney/Melbourne to London Heathrow with a Qantas marketed flight number (operated by Emirates) have the option to change their existing booking to travel on a Qantas operated service to London Heathrow, where it may better suit their travel plans. This would mean they would travel on the same Qantas A380 aircraft with the same flight number for all sectors of their journey between Sydney/Melbourne, Dubai and London.

On this occasion, there would be no additional cost to make this change, provided that the original travel dates are retained.

This offer is subject to availability on Qantas operated services between Sydney/Melbourne and London Heathrow and is open for all Qantas customers booked and ticketed prior to 14 April 2014, for travel on/after 14 April 2014.

Latest Qantas News

I rang Qantas today to try and get this done and they said it was $230 + fare difference (which totaled ~$1080) to change the 2nd leg to QF9. It may be worth mentioning I booked a saver fare

Can 2 F pax travelling on QF11 guest 2 J pax on same flight into LAX flagship lounge? All 4 are travelling AA that same day on the same flight.

All 4 are nonstatus

Thx and I agree. The guesting for F pax is available for Admirals club but guesting not mentioned for Flagship.

oneworld website does not specifically mention flagship lounge only mentions lounges generically.

and apparently all 4 are from the one family with 1ad and 1ch under 18 in F and the same in J.

So it sounds like its OK to me

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have numbered the paragraphs as per below.

Par 1 indicates general lounge access availability for First passengers.

Par 2 indicates guesting rights for first passengers.

Par 3 indicates access for connecting flights.

They are each to be read concurrently. As a result when a First customer has First lounge access as per Par 1 and Par 3 then they have guesting rights as per Par 2.

i.e. There should be no problem with guesting in the scenario.

oneworld lounge access for First Class or Business Class customers

Indulge yourself before departure in a wider range of airport lounges when you fly First Class or Business Class with any oneworld member airline.

  1. Customers flying First or Business Class have access to the equivalent class of lounge regardless of their frequent flyer status. First Class passengers may use a Business Class or frequent flyer lounge if a First Class lounge is not available.
  2. First Class passengers may invite one guest to join them in the lounge. The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld airline.
  3. Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:
    • First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).
    • Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight.
    • You must be prepared to show your boarding pass or itinerary showing travel in First or Business class on the international long haul flight, in order to access the lounge before your international short haul or domestic flight.

Re: Lounge access in Singapore

I am arriving LHG ( on BA) and transferring LHR for BA flight which departs T5, any suggestion please for "best" lounge and I recall reading recently a company called BATransfer would be recommended for the transfer. Am travelling J so is anything organised by BA for the transfer or do I have to do it?

I can't help with transfers but definitely the BA Galleries First lounge in T5 is your best bet.

Assume you mean LGW (London Gatwick)? If so, and you are inbound on BA and transferring to BA, there used to be a free coach.

Re: Lounge access in Singapore

Sorry, my mistake yes LGW, and thank you to Danger for the BA Galleries tip.

Re: Lounge access in Singapore

Silly question but on arrival LGW, does the airline transfer checked baggage to LHR or does it have to be collected and taken and re checked at LHR

Re: Lounge access in Singapore

I am flying in P Sydney to LHR QF1 with a 3 hour transit in LHR prior to a J flight to Paris with BA.
I have previously encountered confusion from the ground staff as to which lounge I should / can enter.
What are the options and which is the best lounge in LHR?
I am QF Gold ( will be WP post this flight).
Thanks

I would say you will have access to the Galleries First lounge at LHR T5 by virtue of the fact you are travelling onwards the same day (ie. the DXB-LHR flight is the same day as the LHR-PAR flight) and your international long haul flight was in First.

I would take a printout of the information contained here below the heading relating to lounge access based on class of travel.

Re: Advice for LAX lounging

Hi AFF Guru's

Freshie here - just joined yesterday, although have used this site as a bible for years! Its such a wonderful go-to!
I know this next question is probably fruitless but I figured i'd ask anyways - who knows what info could be out there!

A) I was given 2 rtn Scoot tix SYD-SIN leaving in June. I'm a *A Gold member (aligned with AirNZ) and a QC Silver member.
There is absolutely no lounge access for any of these in Sydney Int. Airport is there? I've tried to see if AirNZ would allow access even though not flying (and also because Scoot is wholly owned by SQ) but to no avail.

B) With my QC Silver card, I'm flying 3K rtn SIN-HKG... I can access the QC lounges in SIN & HKG - correct?!

Anyone got some light to shed on this - am I searching in the wrong spot? Apologies if this is the wrong thread to be asking in...

Thanks in advance!!!
