Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Hey guys,
I will be flying from SFO-LAX with southwest before flying LAX-MEL with qantas. I will have a 6 hour layover unfortunately.

I've had a look through the board and lounge websites but can't seem to find a certain answer.

Can I purchase a day pass for any lounge (preferably qantas), or is there anything I can do to get in a lounge just to freshen up and shower etc.
I enquired with Admirals club to ask if I can buy a one day pass even though I am not flying with them and this was their response;
In Los Angeles we have two clubs, Located in Terminal 4. If you are traveling Qantas you would not
be able to get to our club because security would be an obstacle.
You may want to contact Qantas to ask about their Club access. I’m showing Qantas is restricted to Emerald members or those traveling in First class.
Whilst I can't answer specifically about paid lounges in LAX (and I am sure there are a few), I can say you will have access to the QF lounge in the following circumstances:

If you are flying in J (business) or F (first).
If you are a Qantas Club member
If you are a QF gold or platinum frequent flyer (or One World sapphire or emerald).
Or if you are guested in by a member satisfying one of the above.

Okay thanks.
Do you know much about the admirals club 30 day pass. Apparently it gives you access to Qantas lounges but I cant find a clear cut answer to this anywhere.

I haven't used one, but I believe they do provide access. I am sure someone will be able to confirm, though.

The AA 30 day job is a membership, not a pass. I think QF have recently restricted QF lounge access with them. Have a bit of a trawl through the threads jf (use search function), but hopefully some-one more current will chime in.

Here is the LAX QF J lounge access page, but its silent on Admiral's club membership.

Edit: as I don't think you can PM yet, I think I'll PM the QF rep here, Red Roo for clarification - the question comes up from time to time and as I mentioned, I think the rules have changed recently.

Alright sweet thanks for that. Yeah couldn't find anything on the Qantas or admiral website but have seen stuff somewhere stating you can.

Re: Advice for JNB EK lounge access

Present status - QF Gold
Flying JNB/DXB - DXB/CDG both legs in Y on EK metal/ flight no's.

Am I correct ,that I will have no EK lounge access in JNB South Africa but can access EK business lounge in DXB? (QF seems to indicate only access in N not S Africa)
Can I guest in my wife as well?

Update
EK gave lounge access to me in JNB. Invite on EK tix. Allowed my wife as guest.
DXB also went well.
(EK then kindly upgraded us both to J for DXB/CDG leg)

CX lounge access same day only?

Trying to do the right thing by offering to guest a Flyertalk member into CX Pier F lounge

they are flying CX but not until the next day and the lounge closes after last flight (assume 1-2am in morning)

whilst the terms of OW access (CX website) don't specify must be traveling same day (just says must be travelling on OW flight), I Assume they enforce this?

I am on BA that night

thanks

Melbourne Qantas Domestic Lounge Access

I'm a Qantas Club member and am flying to Hamilton Island from Melbourne on Saturday 26th September. I know I can guest my husband into the Melbourne domestic lounge and have 2 x Qantas club passes (thank you Westpac Mastercard) for my teenage children, but now my adult niece is flying with us & I'd like to be able to take her in too. My daughter is 15 and I've been re-reading the rules & wondering if I can guest both her & my husband in on my membership & give my other lounge pass to my niece? Can anyone confirm that I'm reading this correctly as in one place it says for a Qantas domestic flight only one guest, but in another it says you may also be able to take in your children if they're under 18.

Sorry if this seems a newbie question, but I just found the Qantas info a bit confusing.

Many thanks in anticipation of an answer!
Fiona. :):):)

Re: Melbourne Qantas Domestic Lounge Access

I've never had issues taking my wife and three kids into the QF lounge as a Qantas Club member. I can't see you having any issues, I'd just ask as you walk in.

Hi all, shortly we fly on JL7 from BOS in J. According to one world and lounge buddy, the only lounge we would have access to would be BA galleries. However, this appears to be closed until 1600. Has anyone been provided with alternates, or do we have other options?

cheers

I suspect you won't have a problem accessing the BA lounge given the oneworld website lists it as the JAL lounge at BOS. In my experience, the oneworld website is not always accurate with times.

Re: Advice for SYD lounging

Question about guest allocation and child access to QP and Domestic Business Lounge in SYD.

I understand QP members/QF SG/WP/P1 can have a guest and 2 children at the QP but does anyone know the child (in Y) access policy when travelling (1) on a Business Class ticket and (2) One World Sapphire with another programme.

(Travelling SYD-BNE 3 adults (one BA OWS) and 4 children (3,7,13,16) early next year-considering buying one or more business reward tickets to get access)

EDIT: Ignore title SYD not LAX

Spot on, lounge was open for us, even though oneworld site said it would be closed.

cheers

Emirates Lounge Access policy.

Hoping someone may be able to give some advice on the following.

Family of 5 travelling to Europe. 4 passengers in J and one in F.

Have a question about access to first class lounge in DXB.

WP (adult) and 3 others (WP's partner and 2 kids age 17 and 15) are travelling in J
The other passenger is travelling in F.

Going off this.
-WP has one person guest allowance. (So can take partner in)
-Person travelling in F has one person guest allowance. (So can take one child in.)

This leaves one family member (child) unaccounted for to get access to F Lounge.

Has anyone experienced EK being lenient in allowing an extra child into the F lounge?

Cheers gogo

My kids were a fair bit younger than this but yes I was able to get two in with me to the F Lounge.
I asked the same question on FT and got a positive response prior to travel.
I'm pretty confident you will all get into the F Lounge
