Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Re: I'm in the QF Lounge thread

Does anyone know the rules for accessing EK lounges when flying QF business without status. Would QF J allow access to the EK lounge in AKL, for example?

It's meant to. But when we tried they claimed that the lounge was "full" (it clearly was not) and that we should try the QF lounge.

Looking at a couple of trip reports where people have been to EK lounges in MEL etc - the quality between those and the QF lounges is chalk and cheese food wise! EK lounges have multiple hot dishes, entree plates, free flowing champagne. QF looks like it has one hot dish, bowls of lettuce, tomato or pasta salad, and a bowl of apples.

I'm not surprised EK wants to preserve their lounges!

That description is of the J lounge - there's a slightly better offering available in the QF First lounge, but still not close to the EK offering.

Agree with the second part.

The EK lounge in MEL is poor in wine/food offering compared to the QF F lounge. Or is this comment for the AKL QF F lounge?

Yeah, it was just disappointing that a couple QF SGs and a WP couldn't have a look around when flying J. Partnership breakdown there.

Re: I'm in the QF Lounge thread

Somewhat disappointing. But I guess since I want to go into the EK lounge and not the QF lounge, that explains why they don't want me in there.

I did ask about the EK lounge in AKL. I assumed the reply and reply to the reply were about AKL.

Re: I'm in the QF Lounge thread

Hi all,
I am flying with QF SYD-SCL next month (Y+) and then connecting to CCP (Concepcion) on LAN in Y.
Are there any lounges that I can access in the domestic part of the airport as a OWS after I have cleared immigration etc?
I have had a search and can't find any info whether LAN has a domestic lounge there.

Skyteam Lounge Access

Hi I am travelling to Vietnam with Vietnam Airlines in a couple of weeks...I am Gold with Alitalia which according to Skyteam is equivalent to SkyTeam ElitePlus and I should be able to access the lounge in both Sydney and Tan Son Nhat airport.

Haven't used Skyteam lounge before & would be much appreciated if anyone can confirm this is the case?

Thanks

TT

Yes you should be able to access lounges before any international flights. Just can't use them before domestic flights.

Re: Skyteam Lounge Access

Hi all,

I'm travelling SYD - AUH - LHR return in a couple of weeks with a guest. I have Alitalia Club Freccia Alata Plus status which I believe will provide me with lounge access at all 3 airports. Does anyone know if I will also be able to bring a guest into the lounge?

Also - does the Alitalia membership need to be on my boarding pass? I was hoping to use the flights for VA points / SCs.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes you will be able to bring a guest with you, no your membership need not be on the boarding pass.

That's the answer I was looking for! Thanks.

Any chance you have a link that supports that? In case I have issues at the lounge?

I have done it myself, there is also a link to the bits on the guest access to the lounge, but can;t post it here yet (not enough posts :()

Perfect & thanks for the PM with the link. LoungeBuddy seems to indicate no guests are permitted, so hopefully we are alright.

I'm going to be flying some KLM flights when I head back to Wales next year. I'm looking at trying for the gold status match with Alitalia to get lounge access in Amsterdam. Gold members can take 1 guest. Do kids count as a guest? I can't find any info on this on the SkyTeam website. Thanks.

Alitalia and VA?
Getting VA FF points and VA SC from Alitalia flights?
Dream on.

I wouldn't discount the possibility in the future, given the common part-ownership by EY.
As dreams go it's far from the most outlandish.
