I never thought I'd say this - I'm back with FlyBuys

I'm back with flybuys too after many years! In recent months with little effort I've earnt more VA points through flybuys than flying. It's been great to keep the points ticking over during the company travel freeze!

We're currently pushing to VA to move to SQ but will investigate the Etihad option later it I get near the 138k limit... thanks for the heads up!

Listened to wise heads here and "switched" to my wife's Flybuys card when buying some staff amenities this morning. Will continue switching Flybuys card every purchase over the next 4 weeks to see what happens with offers when they start arriving...

Remember to "switch" for a month and then start using just the one barcode for all.

Is there any confirmation that using one card for a month, then alternating, is any better than alternating after each shop? i suppose if they think I'm shopping elsewhere the bonus offers might get better. Okay, I like it more now I think it through. Mrs QF WP's card for March then :D

It tends to work for us ...

... but it's a long term approach and subject to the whims/fancies/analysis of FlyBuys marketing machinations.

Have you looked at increasing earn by using a coles insurance product?

Utilised the use of Mrs QF WP's card again today, have put mine to bed until next month.

I get industry (wholesale) rates and much better T&C's than Coles white label products, so that part is hard to achieve.

I've found a two months on two months off approach has worked well for us. I probably depends on your spend pattern though. Try it and see I guess.

Sure enough, get my first offer/promo offer on my card. Will just spend $50 on it, then put it back in the drawer

That's a reasonable one to start things going. I agree. Spend the minimum amount and then ignore the card. I've heard of this offer being sent out to people who aren't on the 4 week promotion at the moment.

I have seen offers for $30 spend and $40 spend but they are quite rare. $50 target is a good offer.

Considering the majority of the spend on this card are for staff amenities, it shouldn't be too hard to get the $50 in one spend :D

Then will be interesting to see what offer we get for Mrs QF WP's card...

Well that was an easy way to get 1,000 bonus points

Then as I had already used Liquorland to buy some much needed quaffers for home, they tempted me mid last week with an offer I couldn't refuse (and didn't!)

Always need more wine as we drink through it ;)

Then they switched back to an offer with Coles - little did they know that I was designated shopper this weekend and with only 1 child in tow, it didn't cost me much to get him to come along

After that posts, time to switch back to my wife's card

Now only waiting on the Liquorland 1,000 bonus points...presume they'll take a while.

But they've followed up their 10x with a triple on the same account (mine)

I'll pass on that as I have no shopping to do after the big one on the weekend.

Instead, bought something this morning in my wife's card. Let's see what happens with that account

On the same (main) card they even followed up with a spend $80 over two consecutive weeks, but I passed on that - hurdle too high :D. I did spend $40 in the first week to let them know my expected hurdle in the future ;). My card having a rest for a couple of weeks

Have gone back to putting this weeks (part) shopping on Mrs QF WP's card. $36, a little tempter for them.

you make me smile :)

and our strategies are very similar ;)

Going by the dates on this thread, you've been using your flybuys card for a couple of months now. You might have been lucky enough to be targeted in the current round of 4 week offers which were sent out today. If you did get an offer, be really careful with the dates of Week 1. If you got the offer, did the target match up with your spending estimates.

The next round of coupons will hopefully be out soon, however, as these are based on a print run the targeted period where the qualifying spend is calculating is long before the coupons are sent in the mail. You might not get these round of coupons but hopefully the first lot you do receive will be for a decent target and reward.

EDIT: Sorry the grammar and comma placement wasn't correct in the second paragraph but I hope you understand what I am trying to get across. Often, when I get coupons, the target spend is based on what I was being asked to spend a few months before the coupons were posted. The email offers fluctuate from week to week and the target amounts vary slowly for email offers.

I've been using both cards interchangeably for just on a month, correct rainbowgirl.

My current offers activated at present

I'll be completing the first 4 tomorrow at Coles and buying a bottle at Liquorland on the way home. Will complete the next two when I fill up next week and this will help my FB points availability to transfer to VA by months end. Will also get a nice haul of double SC's as well.

Yes, I received an offer for the next 4 weeks on my card

I'll decline and shop on Mrs QF WP's card instead. You taught me well rainbowgirl - I haven't forgotten my lessons ;)

Haven't received any coupons yet, but remember the WW ones well...
