I never thought I'd say this :shock:, but I signed up again with FlyBuys today after about a 5 years+ hiatus (having sworn off the program as being completely useless back in the day). Now that it has linkage to Velocity, the small shops we do at my local Coles (plus Target + KMart etc) may get me a couple of extra SC's p.a. that *might be helpful* towards my Gold re-qual.

Will be leaning on the experts in the General promos thread (and the targeted thread) to help me understand it all again. I'm looking your way rainbowgirl :D

There's plenty of flybuys points to be had for minimal effort.

I'd recommend the Coles prepaid Mastercard offer if it comes your way. Very easy points available.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Seeing Woolies is a total dud and you have to buy groceries together with improvements in terms of bonus and points transferal to Ey and VA its quite a good program these days...

I don't even worry about he SCs thing...

Before you transfer your Flybuys points to VA, have a look on the Etihad website to see how many of their points you need to fly on VA. It's a hell of a lot cheaper through Etihad for domestic flights and to NZ.

I'll do the best I can QF WP. There are still plenty of ways to get points and stack multiple offers.

That's what I like to hear - stackable offers :D

Got my first bonus points offer today - 50 for rating my "first" shop at my local Coles.

Even before VA jumped onboard, it was a few years ago that Flybuys got a face lift and became half decent, and pretty easy to earn points, I have found that its not as easy to get points these days but the SCs are a nice bonus.

I'm getting a trickle of bonus offers:

Of course, no confirmation that I can see as to how the referral works....damn, just missed out clazman

They used to have that share your story on the bottom of redemptions. There were three ways you could do it but I can't remember the tracking method. I'll see if I can dig up a few emails.

If you share on FB, then they can track it with software and perhaps those that click on the link in the FB post get a special landing page for the application? Well, that's how I see it happening...

Okay, the emails that had the share your story promotion had 3 buttons/links at the bottom of the email, the links went to Facebook, twitter or "email". My guess is that there was an automatically generated link or code in the email (or twitter message or facebook message) which would eventually track the new user back to your flybuys account. My guess is that the new member must click through this individual link in order for you to get the points.

.... had to sign up again as previous details have been deleted from their system.... filled in the multiple screens... provided a fly buys number and told cards in the mail.

Surely once you complete the application they would send you a email with the new number in and some marketing rubbish, but nothing is this a marketing fail?

My confirmation email came through after I completed my details online but I had already picked up a card at the checkout and scanned it.

I shopped again today for a couple of things for home so that will keep their analytic software purring away...

Had to pick up some things for home whilst I was out buying by son some game toys, so shopped in another Coles. Hopefully lots of little shops will also help trigger some bonus offers my way - having seen some of them that others are getting, I want in :D

You need a card for each of you.

Pair them up to the one account amd then use both ~equally for a month.

After that start scanning only the one bar code for all purchases.

Got Mrs QF WP a card as well when I was online, but have to wait for it to be sent out. Then the "mine, then yours, then mine" will start in earnest ;)

Wow - just converted 2000 FB points (to 870 Velocity) and transferred immediately (or at least by the time i logged into velocity). Given the thread listing the issues with VA website, i had assumed it would take not less than 2-3 days for the transfer to happen.

Still waiitng FB to credit the multi-offer I got back pre-xmas (escalating points per litre 3ppl/5ppl/7ppl/9ppl/11ppl/13ppl/15ppl with subsequent fills).

It can take a month or so before you receive any decent offers. Flybuys want to see what you are buying and what your average spend is before they do the spend x to get y type offers. The first bonus offer is likely to be triple points on one shop. Keep your weekly totals as low as possible but buy one item from each food section you usually shop in. This might lead to useful product based offers.

Couldn't agree more!! It will certainly work out better for you, if the family members spread the shopping around, otherwise you'll end up with unachievable offers in no time.

Flybuys is a really great program these days, so I hope it works out for you.
