Still hoping to get an answer from the more knowledgeable folks in this forum before the deadline: If I book with American Express using the $450 Qantas travel credit on my Qantas Amex Ultimate Card will I receive the double status credits? Or do the flights have to be booked with Qantas directly?

It's been about 20 years since I booked flights with an agent rather than going directly with the airline, so really have no idea.

One of the runs I need to do to get me over LTG will be a Bris-AKL-Bris J.

My question, and I'm sure many people have done this one. I can get there, land and then come back 3 Hrs later. Do I need to exit and re-enter customs or can I just sit in the lounge and wait for the return leg?

Assuming you have no checked luggage, then just use transit security (don't go down to the luggage hall). If you were unable to OLCI, you should be abe to get your BP at the QF lounge.

I did this a couple of years ago. It’s easy to do. Only issue with mine was that the return flight was delayed for a few hours. It was a very long day as I’d started from Adelaide.

Totally easy. No need to "enter" NZ at all.

Though te last few times I may have done this smartgate back in Oz had a meltdown and I had to be manually processed. No biggie but was a bit odd.

Yes, if it's within the promo travel dates (late Oct to end Jun) and you've registered for the DSC promo.

Hi there. One question about the time it takes for the bonus credits to appear. They say up to 6 weeks so what happens if you don't get the credit until after your frequent flyer year turns over? In my case my Gold runs out on the 31st October. I didn't see this question before so apologies if it has been posted.

LOL! Literally every 3rd post in these threds is about "how long"

DSC's usually posted between 2 and 7 days post the flight original credits posting to one's account. So within a week is usual.

It does not matter when they post.. they will apply to the membership year in which they were earned so any status upgrade due would be applied for that membership year, not the new one.

If they post after your year ends they will be backdated and your status adjusted accordingly.

Frequently visited topic in the extra long discussions around the DSC's. They get dated to the respective flights and your status gets updated when the posting happens. In other words, if you are to retain or achieve a level, that will be recognised after the DSC's have finally posted. You may try your luck in chasing them from Qantas but sounds like that's a long shot, usually met with the "please wait until the six weeks has passed" response.
