Mine were booked during SC+50% promotion in August through a TA. My next February DSC booking is for Christmas so many more sleeps before knowing how that will go.

Ah. That makes a big difference then. I think that’s a different thread?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Remember folks to count from when the original flight SC's post to the QFF account. I find it's usually 2-3 business days from when the flights post as a general rule. I do not ever recall DSC runs happening over weekends (which is odd really to me, as I'd think this would be the kind of time to run such jobs)

Why would that make a difference? Under the February 2018 promotion flights I took on 26 Oct and 27 Oct had posted double SCs by yesterday afternoon but some flights from June/July have still not posted double SCs.

I'm curious as to what convoluted system they are using for these promotions.

The way they word their promo T&C's lead you to believe the booking would be tagged with a potential promo code for post-flight processing. Essentially two tables: 1) customer record with a list of promos they've registered to, and 2) a booking where the engine scans the customer record for the promo registrations, picks the first (oldest?) from the list and adds it to the booking. Post-flight, an algorithm scans the bookings and adds the pending points and SC credits into respective jobs.
If the system is designed in any way that would follow this kind of a simple logic, then the treatment would be the same for all promotions.

Understood. This promotion shouldn't be any different to any of the previous promotions.
And it isn’t. The first tranche take a while to post then after that it runs much smoother in the main. The post referenced related to a previous offer started a while ago.

Each DSC promotion has different T&C though

The last two promotions have seen DSC usually post within 2-3 days, however it's now been 7 days since the "eligible travel period" commenced and members are reporting no sign of DSC yet. So far it appears this promo isn't going as smoothly as the last two.

But invariably all of them say that the first promo registered by the user will apply. And that's where I find GV's handy as they are tied directly to a promo regardless of what promos may or may not come later on.

You're giving them way too much credit. I don't think it's possible to find IT worse than Qantas IT.

That's what you get when you put profit ahead of the business.

Data Point. THIS promo ;)

DSC’s posted this morning/late last night - well after 7pm as I’d just booked another flight around 6pm and no sign. Flights taken on 24th and 25th October (Weds, Thurs). Both posted at once.

So just shy of a week to post. Not too bad at all :)

Mine have also shown up from last week's flights. Seems like it's a weekly sweep at this stage.

I have 13 QF flights upcoming in the next month and a half mixed over the last two DSC promotions so if it all credits correctly then kudos to QF and I will never speak ill of their IT systems.

Ah, you will actually. They keep finding ways to surprise and delight. Check out the seat allocation thread.

Data point:
Travel 29 Oct. DSCs credited 31 Oct.

This was a regular booking and did not involve a FTC.

Why do my status runs end up in the toilet? Last time my flight out of NZ was 3 hours late. Ever spent 5 hours in the AKL lounge and late at night?

I was originally booked ADL-MEL-OOL return on same day on 23rd Oct. The Flight Adl - Mel to depart at 6.05am so early night to try get some sleep. Then a longish connection in Mel then 40 minutes at OOL getting me back to Adelaide at around 5pm. 400 SC all up. Easy.

At 1.30am  received a text from Qantas. Adl - Mel flight cancelled (Monday morning business flight cancelled? Some major scrambling having to be done by all).

And of course no other flights to Mel to connect with OOL flight so now booked on 6am flight to Sydney but long delay in Syd means I miss the return flight that’s on sep PNR.

So at 1.45am I’m on to Qantas. Calling after deep sleep of all of 2 hours and am leaving in four hours.

Have to rebook return leg (sep PNR and booked through Amex travel using $450 credit. Of course they are not open.)

Having to make snap decisions. I was offered direct on Jetstar. Hell no.

Ended up Adl - Syd - OOL and return at around 9pm tonight. So a 15 hour flying day after 3 hours sleep the night before. I know not only will I need to argue Original Status Credit but also most likely the DSC. Interestingly Qantas were able to change the Amex booking.

I think this will be my last run.

The worst thing? Qantas is still sending me notifications for the original booking while hanging around Sydney club.
