Citibank raising the bar!

I've got the Citbank platinum visa fee free for life but I don't use the card currently (used a balance transfer offer) anyway I called up to enquire how much it would be to change to QFF Earning and they told me $120 per year! I nearly fell over!

Can anyone tell me what it should be so I can go back to them?

As mentioned a few posts above, it's $49 per annum.

I hold a Citi Platinum Card and Amex Platinum Charge Card.

Question for you all - does this new offer make it much better to cancel the QF transfer (which costs $49 p.a.) and start earning Citi Rewards points to transfer to KF or Asia miles? Previously for every $1 spent, you received effectively 0.752 KF/Asia miles. But now, with the 1.25 reward points per $1 domestic spend, you receive 0.94 KF/Asia miles. Is my logic right? If so, and if wanting Asia miles, the Citi Visa is now better than the Amex Platinum?

Also, with this awesome international 3 points per $1 spend, I should definitely be using the Citi card overseas? Woooo! Unless I'm reading things wrong...

I do not think that the Citi Platinum CC allows you to transfer to Asia Miles?

Isn't the standard reward rate $1 for 1 point rather than $1 for 1.25 or better?

None of this seems to be on their web site yet? Still reading $1:1 point in the ts and cs under plat visa. But this would make for interesting calculation when I max out the 1.5 point limit on the AMEX plat credit

Citbusiness, which just had its cap raised to 250k as well is $1 = 1.25 standard rewards (or 1.25 QFF).
Not sure about any recent changes to the Plat.

The Citibank site still has the cap at 80,000

Have I missed something in the mail?

My latest Citibusiness Gold statement came with a covering letter saying that the points earn cap is being raised from 1 September from 80,000 to 250,000 points per annum.

How did some of you get fee free for life on this card?

There was a promo by Citibank on their gold CC's giving people fee free for life. A lot, and I mean A LOT of AFF's took this offer up.

Then a year or so back Citibank upgraded a lot of those members to Plat fee free for life.

There are a few massive threads on this but that's the cliff notes version!

Not sure, I received the notice of increase to 250k (beginning 1 Sept) with my July statement. On the other hand I haven't received any letter regarding the Plat increase. Maybe they are staggering the mailout of letters. Might be worth a call to Citibank.

I also can confirm this as being correct. Which is really great as I just started looking for a back-up card as I was approaching the 80K point limit.

+1 - downloaded latest CitiBusiness Gold statement over weekend - on statement is note that points earning cap raised to 250,000 - I received no seperate email advising of this and I could not see it on Citi web site on Sat either.

I have free for life Gold and has not received any email/letters from Citibank. I was not offered free upgrade to Platinum earlier.:evil:

I'm sure I just called them to upgrade it for the higher points cap. I asked if there was any cost and they said "same cost as now", so free? "that's right" :)

Call them for a upgrade if you have a spare hour!

Has anyone had any offer to increase cap of the Citi Emirates card? I have just received my latest statement today and see no mention.
