Just received an email from Amex entitled "Get More Bonus Points from every purchase". For absolute clarification on the extended date for this BP promo, in the T&C's it states:

Offer dates: BP: Offer valid from 01 January 2012 to 31 March 2012.

FAlso found out how they work and was told to keep the initial activation receipt, then swap for a new receipt (if not all credit used - as each receipt shows remaining balance).

So whats the deal if a gift card has small remaining balance?

I was told at local BP servo that multiple cards with small remaining balances cannot be pooled together - remaining balance on single card must be cleared singularly with cash top up.

Right or wrong does anybody know?

That's correct. One card only (of any type) per purchase. Stuffs around with my milage app a bit

Cruiser Elite, +1 to medhead's comment - that was what I have been told as well.

Having said that, $25 and $50 cards are useless as they take so much time to process and are in most cases, between a quarter and three quarter of most normal tank fills.

I'm looking forward to using the $100 and $200 varieties (and the only ones I will buy now). Looking at an example, my tank is generally 55 litres and prices between $65 and $80 to fill. Given those amounts, I will either swing by and top up a tank with the remaining value on a card (using the $100) or should get almost 3 complete fills on a $200 card.

I have recently got the Virgin co-branded AMEX and have had my first batch of points transfer across. I have clicked on the link previously to activate the offer but just the standard points have appeared in my account. Was the offer not attached to the Virgin card? Is there any screen that should appear when you click on the promo link (mine just transfers through to the My Cards home page).

Because the previous link was only valid until 31/12 and then they auto extended for existing people, perhaps you need to ring Amex CS to access.

My petrol has been posting nicely and I'm waiting until late next month to buy some more BP cards, then my petrol will be paid until the end of FY.

Then perhaps I'll switch back to Woolies and use some of these vouchers I've been earning but have been lapsing unused.

I called Member Rewards last night to find out if they could manually activate the offer on my card. They attempted to, but got rejected.

The operator (who was very friendly and helpful) then went to check the Terms and Conditions of the offer; it is now only valid for American Express branded and Qantas branded cards - no go with Virgin/Velocity unfortunately.

When I read the terms and conditions it says that the bonus points are not available with Qantas American Express cards.
It could be that the operator is right, but I would advise caution.

That's correct, I went through the same process it works with Qantas but not Velocity. No worries as I'm happy to redeem the extra points for QFF JASAs.

As a sidenote I don't think BP are worried about profits if my local is anything to go by, dozens of cars & trucks lined up despite the high price of fuel.

Has anyone looked into the 'Canvas' branded prepaid Visa cards that BP sells? Will they let you purchase and/or reload these with an Amex card?

It was suppose to end on 31/12/11 and IIRC quite a few members here have stocked up heavily on fuel cards.

yeah am aware is was originally supposed to end Dec 31 2012 but at some point in time BP decided to extend - anybody know exactly what date was and when / where it was announced / publicized?
