Amex are so stingy lately with bonus partners, I only use my card for supermarkets and petrol station purchases. At the end of the day though the benefit is how you apply the points to purchases. I use mine only for travel in J via direct application to the air carrier. Buying a seat early enough can give discounts, as does things like the recent discount offered on points transfers by I think it was Virgin (have I got the right one?).

Yes agree 100% - virtually ALL pts I can generate go to SQ for F and J Saver awards

Yes I have taken advantage of transfers to Velocity also.

When VA first commenced Virgin offered 50% bous on transfers - so I transferred 240K MR pts to get total 360K Velocity pts which approx equal to 2 x J ret flts MEL-LAX. Also took up most recent offer of 30% bonus if you transferred 100K and they threw in a bagfull of status credits too didn't they?

Been a long time since SQ have offered any bonus to transfer - damn shame huh.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I am still in a quandry as to just what AMEX thought processes are in relation to pts earn for Cent, Plat V Plat Edge or Amex DJ?

What thought processes? AMEX has lost the plot.

With 1 October just round the corner many will flee Cent & Plat.
They will probably head to Edge to warehouse existing points,
and another bank issued Amex,
and of course Citi Select which is now the new Amex Plat.

Waaaayyyyy off topic !

Good on you. I have not been that lucky with timing but of-course you see the opportunities arise.

Also noticed it is 0.5 at Australia Post. I don't class AusPost as utilities, so all my stamps, Express Bags, etc. are now bought with another card as not copping 0.5 per dollar!

It is a government owned, so may well come under the government body umbrella.
