I might buy say $200 of gift cards at the end but that's as far as I'll go. Oringally was quoted 30th June I think for finish date by the Amex rep, however as we know it's been changed to 31st March.

I would encourage BP/Amex to continue the relationship as it has sure got me shopping at BP again, if they finish the promotion I'll be back at Wooldworths Petrol double-dipping with QFF and Plat Edge.

Me too. This promo is the only thing that has me going out of the way to spend at BP.

As I'd alluded to in my post above (#287), I'm going to go in for some more BP gift cards but probably ~ $500 worth, as I am still holding $250 worth from pre 31/12.

Have been managing my fills (about every 2 weeks), so my fill this morning ($77) will be my second last. Big fill plus gift cards coming on 30/31 March to get in for the promo.

Just a reminder for those looking to maximise their BP points. Then for me, it's off to spend the gift cards on my fuel purchases. That should last for the next 3 months.

Personal - 12mths / Corporate - can be up to 18mths.

Personal - $200 / Corporate - up to $1,000

There is a promo running at moment giving 5 bonus MR pts / $1 spent at BP service stations
This promo was originally slated to finish Dec 31, 2011 – but was extended to finish Mar 31, 2012.
Can you please check with your back room boys and ascertain if this promo is going to actually expire on Mar 31?
I would hate to go and buy up $5K in Gift Cards and then find out it was extended at last minute

There were plenty of us that loaded up on 31/12 and if people overspent, well that's their issue. Buyer beware rules apply

Regarding the expiry date for the Bonus Points offer from BP, I haven’t heard anything from our Marketing Team about this being extended pass 31 March. We are more than half-way through the month and if it was to be extended, I believe they would have announced it already.

That said I will definitely keep you posted if there are any changes/extension to this promotion.

OK some info for all.

There are 2 types of gift cards - but basically all the same just some differences from point of purchase.

Personal Cards - Purchase from BP outlets - denominations $25, $50, $100 and $200. All cards have specific serial / identification number number and are 'loaded' with $ value at time of purchase - 12mth expiry - lost or stolen cards WILL NOT be replaced / refunded. Damaged cards can be REPLACED with equivalent value of last reading at BP terminal - pay with your Amex and get 5X bonus MR pts.

Corporate Cards - purchase online or over phone with BP - denominations up to $1,000 and expiration date can be up to 18mths. Same T & C's as Personal Card as far as LOSS, THEFT, DAMAGE - BUT - can only be paid for by cheques or direct debit - no Amex pmt - so that idea useless.

BP rep on phone had no knowledge at all as to whether this would be extended again.

Just to confirm, buying gift cards do actually work to get the 5x bonus points?
Also if so is it just for bp fuel cards or can it be for any other gift cards in store?

I've got the bonus points for iTunes cards. Personal fuel gift cards do get the bonus points, just to confirm.

Keen to stock up on giftcards but don't want to end up at a franchise which won't post bonus points. Can anyone recommend a BP near Carlton/Melbourne CBD which posts points and has a good range of giftcards and/or knows how to load up BP fuel cards promptly?

just went to herston BP on bowen bridge rd. This place does give bonus points but they didn't have any $200 cards. Are they pre defined? or they put it in like say myer gift cards? and the check out chick was so adamant that you could swipe two cards if one card didnt cover the cost...... ?!?!??!?!

Yes the $200 cards marked $200 - $100s are marked $100 etc - only takes 2 or 3 days to arrive if ordered in.

Managaress at Cheltenham Vic BP servo told me this morn she could do multiple transactions with a number of cards to exhaust balances for a single purchase.

BUT

She said cannot add balances on a number of cards to form 1 single transaction - hope I am not being too confusing here.
