I remember when QFF used to contact you before reassessment date if you were a bit short and enquire as to whether you were planning any travel in the next year (and if so, the chances of being comped were higher). Sadly, another enhancement.
They still do, but if you used your 'comp' the year before, you have no chance. Perhaps QF thought the OP would scrape in so didn't contact them which is poor. I would have called QF a few weeks before and explained the situation, and provided proof of upcoming plans to see if they can help. Always be pro-active.

With being only 10 SC's short, I would have found a way to earn it. QF's Premium Economy product is much better than VA, despite being much more expensive.

Still, it is what it is:)

Yes I like PE on the A380, but the difference on VA for 4 pax in PE for MEL/LAX was over $6,000.

Last time I saw that was 2007!

End of the saga! Rang QA and they have reinstated Gold for another year. The operator was very helpful and had it fixed in 30mins. :D

Great news so now hopefully you will book those US PE seats on QF now :D

Definitely never heard of anyone getting comped two years in a row.

It has happened. I know someone who was comped Gold 2 years in a row with ~250 SCs each year but was Platinum for a number of years.

I had a couple of trips late in January (my year expires 31st Jan) and would have been on exactly 600 (with DSC and SC on classic awards) but got comped early January - was comped last year when I was about 150 short - have got an F trip to LHR booked for April with all the advice I have received on here :)
