Surely you could also claim the merchant fees as a business expense.

I did it today. Try to use the checkout closest to the liquor department, then your checkout check can just walk in with you and your trolley and tell the liquor assistant you have a saved transaction you need to pay for with your liquor.

    Macquarie Bank Platinum Visa Card

Sounds like this card is perfect for you, ie/ designed for wankers.

Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

Yeah my points were posting to QFF very quickly initially but now it seems to have slowed down and im still waiting for points to go thru that posted on everydayrewards a week ago. I'm thinking it's deliberate and they'll start pushing across points in larger blocks rather than as individual...

Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

Ok I do actually work for these guys and I can tell you I spent $45 on 2/6 and received 15 points, not 45. You need to do larger single transactions to maximise points rather than multiple small ones. The points posted to my QFF account about a day after posting to everydayrewards. I also...

    which card for us?

Yeah if you want to go multiple cards including amex to maximise points you are going to pay a lot in annual fees, but there are cheaper cards that give you 1:1 without much of an annual fee. I have this stupid CardServices Gold Card (run by citibank) that costs $75 a year and earns 1:1. I...

Most of these targeted offers I get are ridiculous. Spend $300 in one transaction, just to get a paltry extra 5c off fuel etc. Oh and the last one, spend $55 or more on meat. Who the hell does that? It's cold and windy, BBQ season is well over in victoria.

    Citibank stolen rewards points!

LOL. Reminds me of the couple that took off with the 10 million accidently deposited into their account. Lucky they took those ill-gotten points back before you committed a crime :P

Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

Sure are. Just the fact that the joining fee will no longer apply will ensure that, and millions shop at Woolies every day, why WOULDN'T they want to earn QFF points for doing something they do anyway and will cost them nothing? Even swiping the card won't be an issue as they've already been...

Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

I'd be surprised but great news if it's true. I buy a lot of beer at BWS :) The way it is as of right now you can't even swipe your Everyday Rewards at those places but I guess that's going to be changed.

Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

Guys the packaged liquor refers to the Woolworths Liquor stores that are integrated as part of the supermarkets, not Dan Murphys imo.

Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

If the brochure quoted a few pages back is correct 'Earn one Qantas Frequent Flyer point for every dollar spent over $30 at Woolworths supermarkets'

Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

But you don't get QFF points for the first $30. So if you spend $50 on groceries and $40 on beer you get 60 points. Do it seperately and you only get 30.

Yeah I can already imagine the tightasses trying to bring trolley loads thru the liquor area to buy together with their slab of beer to maximise the points.
