2 families - Sydney to LAX return

Morning all, I have a few questions for the group that im sure you can help with... The back ground is that we have 2 families traveling to the USA in September and would like to sit together on the journey (4 adults 4 kids). I am currently SG but from 1 July will have a soft landing to...

    F Lounge Enhancements

Not just you at all, they are shockers - the Apple wireless mouses are brilliant in comparison... i wonder how they would get the security lock on them though ;)

    Plane Talking or Plane Biased?

Yohy, I cant say that i agree with your analysis of Kyle Sandilands long lost brother in saying: The difference in analysis from someone like Will Horton at the Centre for Aviation is simply chalk and cheese compared to Ben. Will goes into depth but treats the subject matter with...

    Destination, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

You could try flying to the UK then flying bmi to Bishkek. Bookings are now done via the BA website. Beware of what I'm lead to believe is no QF points or SC's if thats an issue.

Exemplary service on QF11 last night - how do I tell Qantas?

I've previously used Qantas's twitter feed (@QantasAirways) and got a reply saying the social network team would pass it on.

Flying in Vibrams Five Fingers - any thoughts?

I haven't travelled in them Simon, but just a few thoughts to ponder: 1. Vibrams are designed to fit pretty firmly - do your feet swell during the flight? 2. Do you use flight compression socks and if so will they fit around the toes in the Vibrams? If you do end up using them, I would love to...

    VA invite+

Sure - Time will tell, but personally I'm underwhelmed by the new and improved VA.

    VA invite+

Fair point Bill - I guess VA want to be like the Australian banks - we know people need to fly, we are all the same, but do passengers hate us less than Qantas? I guess I stupidly thought that the Virgin brand was about doing it differently and with panache. But I'll take my jousting sticks to...

    VA invite+

Considering how our 'official press' such as The Age have turned to gossip mag style these days, I'd say ABT could almost be classed as media. Mind you, with respect to Invite+ wouldn't you simply look at what QF are doing at WP or CL level?... It appears to me that Borghetti and co. only seem...

We are entitled to STATUS CREDITS!!!

Im off to The UK in a few weeks and have used points to get myself a classic awards ticket because it was much more valuable to get a ticket without burning to many points using an ASA. The reason for this is that I've re-qualified for SG and have bugger all chance of getting WP... so any SC's...

    London UK - location/transport/hotel advice?

I'd add another thing to your list of things to do (if it appeals) and that's take a bike tour of London. Using the tube is great, but you really don't get an appreciation of how compact Central London tends to be. I managed to be the only person on the day i did my tour and the guide merged...

    Splitting bookings SYD-SIN then SIN-LHR

I've been trawling the threads and have yet to find the complete answers so here goes: I'm looking at booking SYD-SIN from the Australian QF site using a sale fare, which will not be eligible for Flight Upgrade Awards, then booking from SIN-LHR (using the QF Singapore site) to book a Red...

    Singapore Airlines Gold Lounge

Assuming the the SQ lounge is the same as the rest of Singapore you will need the UK adapter as shown in the following article: What power point plug do I need around the world? - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller Personally, one of my best...

    IAG buys BMI from Lufthansa

The routes were actually never BA's elbarto, they were a code share agreement that BA had with a small airline called BMED, whom were swallowed up by BMI and as a result the agreement was terminated. It was hard to pick it though as all staff wore BA uniforms and they had access to BA...

BA Booking in QF metal during the uncertainty?

I'm looking to book a return trip to the UK at the end of the month and usually prefer to fly QF, so as to get on the A380. Given the level of uncertainty at the moment (if required, arbitration would be happening about the time I'm leaving, am away and wanting to get home) am i better off...

    Flying to London on Q

+1 for the A380 by a long shot. The only time i try to jump on the Q747 or BA777 is if I'm needing to get more SC's for the flight... and then i would only do it for the smaller leg to and from SIN. In this case i generally prefer the 777 as i find it better than the tiredness of the current...

Looking at moving to the UK with the Family - any Tips/Thoughts/Considerations

Would have to agree with JetLagged about those few things, but if you manage to settle in a village or similar then look out for local village markets, which have some brilliant fresh fruit, veggies, condiments, meats etc. at a much better quality (actual red meat vs the awful supermarket stuff)...

QP/JL Wireless Access problems [Fixed Oct 2011]

I was in the QP in T2 on Tuesday night and did an experiment - it took 23 minutes to log into the QF/Tesltra wifi and less than 2 seconds for the Optus Sponsored free wifi in the terminal. It certainly gave a me a feeling of "Great Work Optus" and "Get your sh%t together Telstra and Qantas"...
