As a recent QF discussion & todays AusBt article states VA are trialling a 'CL like' invitation only tier, invite+.
Personally i cant see many benefits (at the moment) that would go with the tier that platinum doesn't already offer?
thoughts?

The current Platinum offer is VERY good with VA, if anything a discount on the number of points needed for J redemptions would be good for Platinum members!

A separate lounge would be the best benefit, much like the J QF lounge

Considering how our 'official press' such as The Age have turned to gossip mag style these days, I'd say ABT could almost be classed as media.

Mind you, with respect to Invite+ wouldn't you simply look at what QF are doing at WP or CL level?... It appears to me that Borghetti and co. only seem to be re-replicating those things Qantas do anyway with a few very very small points of differentiation for the 'new and improved Virgin Australia'.

Why would they do any more as they are achieving their aims by doing what you say :?:

They could make invite+ transferable so if/when my boss receives an invite, he can pass it onto me! :D

...I can dream...

Fair point Bill - I guess VA want to be like the Australian banks - we know people need to fly, we are all the same, but do passengers hate us less than Qantas?

I guess I stupidly thought that the Virgin brand was about doing it differently and with panache.

But I'll take my jousting sticks to the poolroom.

I like it how they quote a source for the 'tip off' about the QF money card, but act like they're the ones who scored the scoop on Invite+

perhaps we need a "name and shame" sticky thread for stories that AusBT has ripped off from here...

Do the good things the same and improve on the not so good.

Sure - Time will tell, but personally I'm underwhelmed by the new and improved VA.

Well then they are not the airline for you! Perhaps stick to QF

VA have improved dramatically since the LCC days, but they are not quite their yet for the price they charge..

I am very undecided if I will support them 100% for my flights domestically... I think I will split my flights 50/50 QF/VA

...and be happy QF have lifted their game as a result of VA moving up. You can just look at the A330 2-3-2 business class to see where QF were wanting to go!
