So quick question on your personal choice: if you were flying to London via Singapore with Qantas, would u choose the Q A380, Q 747 or BA 777?

Well I am off to LHR next week and I specifically picked the A380.

I find it much quieter than a 747!

Have flown SYD to LHR a numnber of times -since their inception, I always prefer the A380: quiter (as has already been reported) greater sense of space/room, and seem to arrive in LHR more rehreshed due to different pressurisation. Mind you, travel in J or F (latter with points upgrade), so that might also affect my views and choices.

+1 for the A380 by a long shot.

The only time i try to jump on the Q747 or BA777 is if I'm needing to get more SC's for the flight... and then i would only do it for the smaller leg to and from SIN. In this case i generally prefer the 777 as i find it better than the tiredness of the current 744 QF fleet (this may change with the pending upgrades for the 74's).

Business or Economy? What is the price differential? Looking to upgrade using points? Possibility of rerouting the flight to another location cheaply (I did this on BA recently where I flew on BA as it meant I could get a cheap flight to Cyprus on the trip).

In a simple shoot out in J without considering other factors it would be A380, BA 777 and then QF 744.

Thanks everyone, I flew on one of the first A380 flights to lax and I was impressed even thought they were having some teething problems with the pa system. Been on the 747 plenty of times but never the 777.

I am doing SYD SIN on the 777 then SIN LHR on the A380 (obviously for the extra SC's :D )

+1 for the A380... I live in Brisbane, but always fly down south first to start my international trips on A380s wherever possible (eg I've recently flown the A380 SYD-SIN-LHR-SIN-SYD, and have upcoming A380 flights as: MEL-SIN-LHR, and also MEL-LAX-MEL... the IFE has much more content (with a widescreen digital display - no 'noise' in the picture), the aircraft are much newer and quieter, they have the self-serve snack bars, and there is also the tailcam... ;)

+1 for the A380... and there is also the tailcam... ;)

The problem with the tailcam for those in J - you have to stow the pop-up screens before take off: fine if you have back-of-seat (Y) or nice large TV 9F)!

Annoys my partner when flying J!

Same for the Y EROW seats, which I usually pre-select if travelling in Y ... if only you could rewind the take-off cam... haha!

+1 Again for the A380 - the 777s are nice but I would prefer QF over BA....especially in Y, Y+ or J.

Its not just the tailcam that is annoying about this - it is that QF advertise gate to gate IFE but don't provide it to pax in J/PE!

+1 A380 for me, quieter and more room. Just back LHR-SYD with one leg points upgrade to J. Ahhhh bliss.

IIRC, they only state that audio content is available at all times.

They "hide" it with an asterisk or two... :

Customers can now enjoy the award winning entertainment on the Qantas A380 from the moment they step onboard the aircraft, until the moment they arrive at their destination*. The introduction of gate-to-gate A380 inflight entertainment gives our customers more time to view TV programs or movies, play some games or even just relax and enjoy listening to their very own personalised audio play list.**

Applies to seat back IFE screens only. **Gate to gate audio content can be enjoyed by all customers.

A380 without a shadow of a doubt - in any class.

Depends a little bit on the class but would also go with +1 for A380 However;

BA777 have new F seats on all (don't quote me if i'm wrong) flights and soon BA747
Q380's are more noisy in J than upstairs in 747's
Q380's Y and Y+ beats everything hands down
If your flying after March 2012 then the SYD-SIN will be a BA747 and that would be my preference....
Why not BA747 to BKK, CX330 to SIN and Q380 to LHR and let us know your thoughts:oops:

Source, ftdashboard :-

BA777 - very unlucky not to get NF cabins currently running at 100%. I think two flight since June have not been NF but if you were on those birds.....you might be a little upset
BA747 - SYD-BKK-LHR is currently running around 33% with NF cabins. Not looking good for full NF until March 2012 & then they will still have many MIDJ birds that will never be fitted with NF which means you could miss out any old day.
BA747 - SIN-LHR is currently running around 36% and ditto above

IMO BA service compared with QF747 service is superior however, the tables turn when compared to A380
