Thanks - but it did allow me to proceed to book with the BNE-SYD/SYD-BNE.

As the MCT is legal I assume there would be no issue ticketing.

You can get all the way to final stage with the domestic block, then it errors at payment.

The block works both ways… book BNE-SYD first and the inventory SYD-HKG is blocked, and vv.

The call centre will tell you that the seats you can see aren’t available anymore, that only they (the call centre) has access to live inventory, that you should book the connecting flight separately, or even, as was told to me, that Qantas doesn’t fly on any day of the week from SYD to MEL after 8am (when in reality, because my flight got in early morning, all the domestic connectors were then blocked).

Hobart can apparently work around the block.

QF3 SYD-JFK is one flight number and is considered to depart Australia and arrive in the USA, regardless of where the plane physically lands.
You would be fine.
I'd be really surprised if that wasn't the case!

As feedback, managed to book QF3 with no issue re the same country. the miles seems to be SYD-JFK and not SYD-AKL-JFK, which was good as I was about 40 miles short of 35k before the change.\

Hello, after much searching and planning, I thought I finally found a route that works and has availability. 5 flights searched via multi-city, everything shows availability. It's business class, I have enough points, and have just two surface segments so I think rules-wise it's ok.

No more than 5 stopovers, I’m guessing the stopovers are MNL, HKG, ORD, YVR? all other transits are less than 24 hours? No more than two transits in one city?Hiw many times are you passing through HKG? For example, what’s your routing YVR-MNL?

Oh sorry, i meant "Transit" (<24h) when I said "stopover" - still getting used to the terminology. I've attached the full itinerary.

Have you tried different connecting cities to get you back? You’ve got various japanese and chinese cities for example, even Seoul. There should be flights from tokyo to hong kong as well, unless you’re doing that by a cruise or tour or something.

If you can find those cities, even connecting flights, you can call to book those and include them in the ticket.

Otherwise I can’t see any issues as to why the fare would not price out.

Have you tried different connecting cities to get you back? You’ve got various japanese and chinese cities for example, even Seoul. There should be flights from tokyo to hong kong as well, unless you’re doing that by a cruise or tour or something.

If you can find those cities, even connecting flights, you can call to book those and include them in the ticket.

I just tried each leg of the above individually through Qantas and they all reached the payment screen so I might have to try the call centre. Not looking forward to that haha.

You’ve probably read earlier in this thread.ll don’t mention it’s a OWA. Just say you want to book some flights. Let the computer figure out it’s a OWA and cap appropriately.

Managed to get my first “RTW” itinerary booked, so thanks to those that helped above.

Also made my first attempt at adding additional flights to the booking via the call centre with no luck…the operator was adamant that it wouldn’t let them price the change because you “can’t add additional flights after booking”.

Decided to give FB messenger a go instead and to my surprise it was quite painless!

Mentioned that I had issues with the call centre actioning my request, provided all of the required details and they called me back to authorise the request and pay the additional taxes. Received my updated E-Ticket within 20-30 minutes!

Obviously YMMV, but may be a good option for those struggling with the call centre.

Hi everyone,
I'm now trying to make itinerary from Perth to Lima(Peru), then to Canada, to Tokyo, and back to Perth.
I have been able to find the flights from PER to LAX (via Nadi), however I just can not go anywhere further beyond LAX.
I'm even thinking of organise own segment between LAX to Lima (hopefully AA flight be available for QFF, though).
So PER-LAX-some Canadian airport (Vancouver, Montreal etc)-Tokyo- PER. This doesn't look too complicated, however seems impossible to find reward flights.... Any advice??
