As an aside my Moderna booster has not appeared on my medicare records since it was administered on Monday. What has been the normal timeframe for this?

Mine was done at a pharmac_. They had updated Medicare site before shot was given. I checked the Medicare app while waiting immediately after shot given and it was already noted. I downloaded the new certificate while waiting and had it imported into several state government apps before departing the pharmac_.

I received a Medicare letter from the Australian Immunisation Register saying that I am now eligible to have a booster. I imagine quite a few people will have received this letter.

I only have two doses registered on the AIR. Medicare and AIR would be unaware of the booster I had overseas.

It would be for the third dose (or presumably, I guess a fourth dose for those severely immunocompromised).

It was dated some weeks after I became eligible for a booster based on the date of my 2nd dose. I will be curious to see if I get another letter if I wait and the six months is up and the booster becomes "overdue".

Whilst there are no mandates that affect me I see no need to rush out and try and get my overseas booster registered or to have another booster. I intend to have another booster before possibly travelling overseas in the middle of the year.

Vaccine was available for me in March 2021 as I am category 1b. Held off and held off until November 2021 and I've now had 2 doses of Pfizer plus Moderna booster. No issues with any vaccination.

Wife had 2 doses Pfizer back in June as we were looking for her to get back to Thailand early as father in law not well but it wasn't easy to get back. She had Moderna booster in January. Migraines started a few days after first shot and continue to this day. Had dizziness and nausea for ~2 weeks after second shot. Nothing much after 3rd shot but she's been having kidney pain for close to 3 weeks. Doctor saying kidney pain post UTI but I'm not convinced.

I'm not putting my daughter through this poorly scripted charade until these clowns get their act together.

I could've had mine today, but I'm waiting until later this month when my wife becomes eligible and we'll go together.

A half Moderna dose I think is still a higher dose than a full Pfizer dose. I may well do Moderna for my fourth dose as well. I am thinking about late May at this point.

Thus far got 2 doses of AZ as primary course, Pfizer for 3rd dose and plan on getting 4th dose of Moderna in about 10 days time (had my flu shot about 10 days ago). Hopefully this dose will keep me protected against COVID!

I will wait for the Medical Practitioners on this site to chime in with what they would do, MrsM is x3 Pfizer, I am x2 AZ and Moderna and MissM is x2 Pfizer. We may hold out to get another booster until closer to travel as some countries (if I have read correctly) are also want to know when your last jab/booster date was before allowing entry.

Not a medico, but heterologous boosting (boosting with a different vaccine to what you have had already) may produce a stronger immune response. So if you have had 2x or 3x Pfizer, I'd probably go for Moderna or Novavax. If you have had 2x AZ then Moderna or Pfizer unless you have contraindications to taking mRNA vaccines. For 2x AZ and Moderna, then I guess Pfizer, Moderna or Novavax. The Moderna doses are stronger doses than Pfizer so that may outweigh some of the benefits of having a different mRNA vaccine in Pfizer.

I have had 2xAZ and 1xPfizer, and intend to have Moderna or Novavax next. But any of the vaccines you can get is better than no vaccine.

To each their own, I suppose, but frankly I try and avoid listening to medical professionals and experts on important matters like this. Frankly, we don't have enough data as it is to say what course of vaccinations provides the best long term and short term protection (although we do know that these vaccines are safe). This is why I've taken the course of mixing AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna (and hopefully Novavax when the commonwealth comes to their senses). We also don't know what the long term effects of a novel Coronavirus like this are. I'd rather get as much protection as I can, particularly now that travel has reopened and we have the highly infectious Omicron.

The only thing we can say for certain regardless of variant is you can't catch COVID outdoors, but that's about it.
