Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

What impact will the Velocity changes have on your status beyond 2025?

They only had a year to come up with the plan & implement it, clearly not enough time.
Cost of airfare divide by 12 or 24, hmm I think that's grade 2 or 3 math.
Well, it's not about the division, it is about how the rounding works

But it was rounding up from the very 1st presser..... 16.84 SC for flight A = 17SC awarded for flight A.

Sorry Grade 4 math, maybe.
Or better yet possibly use of a computer program could manage it, even a Commodore 64 from last century.

But it's not what the website says now. Perhaps they've changed it to reflect what actually happens
Either way, something has gone wrong with how they communicate or calculate rounding.

Rather than losing once-loyal flyers who didn't requalify for Velocity status under the new program rules, Virgin Australia is giving some people complimentary status extensions.

Will be interesting to see if I am 'offered' this - I have far more than the required SC to retain WP but a lot of that is non-VA (mainly SQ J) but I will tick over the VA-required status credits the day before expiry in late Feb. Perhaps I will requalify early :)

Well, VA no longer sends me any email (my wife gets plenty as a Red member). Must have been something I said. Virtually no SC's earned in current year, so will become Gold in a few months time, Not worth anything to me as a UA Plat.

Unless VA change their Velocity program substantially, I think they're heading for somewhat of a crash landing. Not fatal, but not good for the owners bottom line. You just can't transplant an American FF system into Australia without repercusions (ask BA). Perhaps QR might step in with a bit of serious management (if indeed they have it).

Did you click “Unsubscribe” when you saw the changes? 😉

As an aside, I’ve stopped receiving emails from other programs and I’m concerned I inadvertently clicked on the “Unsubscribe” button on my iPhone when it tells me the email is flagged as from a mailing list….

I'm currently Lifetime Gold and Plat+ with VA.
I've got about 2900 SCs with 5 months left to play on my renewal date.
I have got BNE-DOH-MAN in J return this week on QR. booking the VA code.
I do that again in April.
I've got about 12 segments booked on SQ in J (Elite gold and PPS with them now) in the next 3 months.
There is a J return to DFW on UA in May as well as about 12 returns domestic J on VA in the next few months.
I am genuinely wondering if I shouldn't just keep my SQ gold & push everything else to my QR to get Plat with them.
That at least will give me Oneworld Emerald and F lounge access.
I can't in good conscience move to QF FF but would claw back my AA Plat Pro pretty easily if I started booking QF.
I do kinda wonder if VA are interested in my $$$$ because apart from a shiny new belt buckle luggage tag, I haven't really seen any love.

It was 800 status credits to earn Platinum at around $6.00 per status credit ($4,800), double status credits made it around $3.00 per status credit ($2,400), for me to maintain Platinum. Now Platinum Plus is now 2000 status credits at $12.00 per status credit. $24,000 for Platinum Plus, so the four free upgrades etc that I got as a Platinum member are now costing 10 times what I was paying for them previously?

I earned Platinum Plus last week. This was due to a unique set of circumstances where I worked out that bringing forward 6 months of expenditure would provide at least VA gold for another 36 months.

I am just over 2K SC from Forever gold ... that is not happening.
