Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

What impact will the Velocity changes have on your status beyond 2025?

They only had a year to come up with the plan & implement it, clearly not enough time.
Cost of airfare divide by 12 or 24, hmm I think that's grade 2 or 3 math.
Well, it's not about the division, it is about how the rounding works

But it was rounding up from the very 1st presser..... 16.84 SC for flight A = 17SC awarded for flight A.

Sorry Grade 4 math, maybe.
Or better yet possibly use of a computer program could manage it, even a Commodore 64 from last century.

But it's not what the website says now. Perhaps they've changed it to reflect what actually happens
Either way, something has gone wrong with how they communicate or calculate rounding.

Rather than losing once-loyal flyers who didn't requalify for Velocity status under the new program rules, Virgin Australia is giving some people complimentary status extensions.

Will be interesting to see if I am 'offered' this - I have far more than the required SC to retain WP but a lot of that is non-VA (mainly SQ J) but I will tick over the VA-required status credits the day before expiry in late Feb. Perhaps I will requalify early :)

Well, VA no longer sends me any email (my wife gets plenty as a Red member). Must have been something I said. Virtually no SC's earned in current year, so will become Gold in a few months time, Not worth anything to me as a UA Plat.

Unless VA change their Velocity program substantially, I think they're heading for somewhat of a crash landing. Not fatal, but not good for the owners bottom line. You just can't transplant an American FF system into Australia without repercusions (ask BA). Perhaps QR might step in with a bit of serious management (if indeed they have it).
