Will Qantas open a lounge in SIN due to revised flight schedules?

I am flying from CDG to PER in August. Qantas emailed this week that the former direct flight will now refuel in Singapore. Perfectly understandable. However, the B787 will then go on to SYD, while PER passengers have a 6-hour layover followed by a 5-hour flight in a Boeing 737! (These are paid J seats.)

The flight from CDG lands at 04:05. Will Qf open at least the J lounge for passengers? This is well outside the usual opening hours for all airline lounges. Sitting around the airport, even Changi, for 3.5 hours is not my idea of business class service.

NB. I would not accept the new flight. I mean, really!?! I am reboarding the B787 to SYD after only a 2-hour layover and then flying back to Perth from there. I arrive home at much the same time, but at least I will be moving. (And earning more status credits! 😊 )

I'd guess it's very likely they will given that they operate their own lounges. Typically it would open 3 hrs before the flight so probably be open from 03:20 to 05:50.

If not they'd probably provide access to one of the paid lounges that operate 24 hrs - such as the SATS Premier Lounge or the Marhaba lounge.

Surely a one world option would be available vs paid?

Yes, the QF lounge..

But if they can’t sort out the staffing for that then it’s (complementary access) to a paid lounge .

As far as oneworld lounges go, CX lounge would be open - in T4 - which is useless for T1. IIRC, passengers on most other OW carriers (MH, JL, even QR for OWE and OWS Y pax) would be in paid lounges when the QF/BA lounges are shut..

(Side note QF lounge does open in the morning 3 days a week for the AF flight, but that is after QF256 departs).

You have plenty of time to ask QF what they intend to do. I would say they will - they are the most service-oriented Qantas port, well run by a superb team led by a Qantas legend!

I was hoping someone would know what happens from a previous schedule revision. It isn't critical. QF9/219 to LHR also stops in SIN for 2 hours (at a reasonable time), so I will ask in the F lounge on the way over on June 25th. The QF call centre people couldn’t find the right person to answer lounge questions

I've come through Singapore on a delayed QF2D before that's landed at about 5.30am and the lounge has been open for Qantas passengers.

I do remember that it closed as boarding for the onward flight to Sydney was called so I imagine they'll have it open for travellers If they can line up staff for last minute things like a delayed flight from London. Wages are probably cheaper than paying for 30-50 people to use a paid lounge.
