I am flying from CDG to PER in August. Qantas emailed this week that the former direct flight will now refuel in Singapore. Perfectly understandable. However, the B787 will then go on to SYD, while PER passengers have a 6-hour layover followed by a 5-hour flight in a Boeing 737! (These are paid J seats.)
The flight from CDG lands at 04:05. Will Qf open at least the J lounge for passengers? This is well outside the usual opening hours for all airline lounges. Sitting around the airport, even Changi, for 3.5 hours is not my idea of business class service.
NB. I would not accept the new flight. I mean, really!?! I am reboarding the B787 to SYD after only a 2-hour layover and then flying back to Perth from there. I arrive home at much the same time, but at least I will be moving. (And earning more status credits!
