What's your favourite aircraft type?

For me, 747-400 all the way.
Just love them, and always choose a 747 if that's an option (which it's increasingly not :( )

Don't mind the A380's, then all other wide bodies.
Don't like the 737's, and I think I'm at the stage that I'd prefer a 717 over the 737. The 717 just seems roomier.

I'm not sure I understand why there is so much lover to 747 upstairs in J. The exit row legroom is nice and there is the "its upstairs" factor, but in reality, having to lug your stuff up and down the stairs plus the delay in disembarking is annoying. Additionally it's much more cramped and like being in a small narrow body aircraft. I much preferred the nose section in J on the 747.
My second last overseas flight was J SYD-HND in the nose of a 747 In January 2020. Very secluded, quiet and comfortable. Lots of storage space. Lovely. We took the same flight 3 years in a row. Came back in Feb 2020 on JAL metal, very gratefully after avoiding our planned return that was via Shanghai. Can’t recall what the aircraft was, but it was not a 747.

favourite for domestic long haul - A330 with the lie flat seats.
favourite for domestic short haul - B717
favourite for overseas short haul - A330
favourite for overseas long haul -A380 (even with droop not flat bed) or B747

least favourite of all time - tired old B737s, and Dash-8 on anything longer than CBR-SYD

favourite GA - Grumman Tiger
favourite military - whatever I could get OPSAT travel for and that has included a Caribou, a Chinook, and Iroquoi, a B707, many many C130 Hercules and HS748 and a very nice ride in VIP fitted out BBJ.

Dreamliner?

Purely considering the aircraft type, I'm thinking the 717's. Not too big, not too small and always a nice flight.
I qualify this by saying that I've had some unpleasant journeys in a 717, but that was the seating and the company, not the plane!

Favourite aircraft type: F-15 (for many reasons)

Favourite aircraft type I've flown in: anything where I'm seated forward of Y+

Honourable mention: Herc (with a less than max load and a mattress... it's lie flat!)

Least favourite (and I can't believe no one has mentioned these abominations): ERJ135/145 and Metros (shudder)

A380 by a mile, honorable mention for short domestic haul only an ERJ-135 which feels like a SAAB340 with after burners on.

In 2017 I think I took the most flights on a SAAB340 and then I took a flight on an ERJ-135 bit a change in take off speed.

Qantas 787-9 in J, because it's the best (IMHO) way to go from MEL to LHR. Also, I love the plane: bigger windows, cleaner air, quiet. I find the J bed very comfortable. My one complaint is that the toilets are too small. Changing into PJs is a challenge; I'm 185cm tall.

For me it would have to be the 747SP. Specifically the two QF used to own.

I flew it many times as a kid from BNE to SIN QF51/52 on our way to the the UK & back to see family for Christmas and also when I worked for QF when it flew CNS-DRW.

Such an amazing machine & powerful! We often got to sit in Y on the upper deck in the front row to SIN, with the pull down projector screen for entertainment and 3 crew analog coughpit.

Also really like the 717 - such a unique aircraft that is fun to fly in domestically.

I'm also with @Mattg - the 767-300 is an awesome machine, and just has all the right proportions.
Im actually sitting in Ibis Brisbane Airport hotel looking out the window and the Air Niugini B767 just taxied past! haha

Interesting to note only one person has said they like the 787 so far

For me it would be a 747 400. Especially when they were full of people and fuel for a long flight. The noise of the engines as they wound up and the push back in the seat as we rolled down the runway. Everything shacking and every small bump felt . Then when in the air watching the flaps fold back into the wing like a complicated origami puzzle and the plane would make a few majestic turns above the earth.
The rest of the flight was always a buzz as the little plane on the moving map moved across continents. At 35,000 and speeds of 900 km/h the plane felt so swift and agile yet steady at the same time .
The landings were always tinged with sadness as the flight was over but there was always the expectation of the next flight .

I do like the comfort and space of the 787 and the a350 but they are a way to get to the adventure of the holiday rather than part of the adventure.

Favourite: Embraer 190

I flew in business class on the single seat side, and it was very comfortable

Least favourite: Saab 340

I was in the window seat in the 2 seat side and it felt claustrophobic, plus the toilet didn't even have a sink, just wipes
