Just got off an IndiGo (6E) A320-Neo … surprisingly thin seats, really good leg room even in the regular economy seats and amazing leg room in the bulkhead and exit rows…

I have not felt the same legroom in other UL/JQ A320’s (not Neo) … but 6E legroom was good.

Favourite: A Tie between the 747-8I (Flew Korean air)and the 777-300ER(Flew Virgin Australia). Both superbly engineered aircraft and very comfortable. (The first photo is a 747-400- legendary of course)

Favourite: Embraer 190

I flew in business class on the single seat side, and it was very comfortable

Least favourite: Saab 340

I was in the window seat in the 2 seat side and it felt claustrophobic, plus the toilet didn't even have a sink, just wipes

I was just thinking the same! Flew AAmerican Eagle connections earlier this week, E170/175. The legroom in row 1 is phenomenal! I couldn’t even reach the bulkhead and i’m pretty tall.

Agree… the 748 is a beautiful plane. Much quieter than its predecessor.

Anything with propellors - jets can't match the initial surge down the runway when the props bite.
I'm old enough to have flown in Convairs - one flight (Melb to Canberra) the pilot must have thought he was Biggles when he hedgehopped over the Brindies on the way in.

But I like A380s, and I agree with the nostalgia factor re: 747s.
I forgot one of my earliest flights that I really enjoyed. A TAA DC3 from moresby to Honiara via Lae,Rabaul and Bougainville. felt so stable on landing.

i think most are confusing the question with interior fitout and service

For me any aircraft that lands properly after takeoff.
Favourite aircraft is not precisely defined. It can mean whatever anyone wants it to mean, including the interior fit out or the services provided on board if that is what matters most to a member.

Favourite aircraft is not precisely defined.
An aircraft is not defined by the interior outfitting. The interior outfitting is determined by the airline. So an Emirates A380 will have a different vibe to a QF A380 etc etc. Most people look at the interior rather than care much about what "metal" they are flying in.

For example a post upthread mentions legroom. What does an aircraft have to do with legroom?

I think most would think in terms of favourite aircraft experience. What makes up that experience will vary if you are a pilot or a passenger. It's a given that noone would want to fly in an aircraft that crashes rather than lands.

You may want to read the original post in this thread. For me, as a passenger, the interior fittings are an integral part of my experience and pretty central to my thoughts on favourites.

I missed this thread previously, so here goes:

Favourite long haul? B747-400
Favourite short-haul? B767-300 when they regularly flew domestic services
Wish I could could travel again? Vickers VC10
Wish I had traveled when I had the chance but never did? Concorde

Now, how does that compare with reality??
Next booked flight? B737-800 :(
Most likely next flights? Dash 8-Q400 :(

The choice of aircraft by an airline potentially has an impact on the interior and product they can provide. 737s are narrower than their airbus counterparts. So seats are wider on the 320s.

Nine abreast on a 787 is cramped. On the a350 it’s perfectly fine.

Some aircraft like the 739 or 321 have additional exits, providing more opportunities for extra legroom seats.

Regardless of a particular airline's interior kit the 787 wins hands down based on lower cabin altitude and higher humidity. I do like the upper deck of the A380 for its near silence though, provided you're forward of the engines, of course.

Yes but... The Achilles heel is that the cabin crew can close and lock the windows. What you gain in humidity you may lose in jet lag.

My thoughts are based on economy travel.

My favourite is the 747. I found them very comfortable regardless of airline.

The A380 was a similar experience but has now fallen out of favour.

I'm not a fan of A330's on any airline. Did not travel enough on a 777. The A350 may end up being ok. The 787 may well be modern but I don't think 9 across does it any favours. Last month's JQ MEL-BKK gave me the feeling of my longest ever flight. See if I feel the same in a few days for return leg.

For short haul miss the 767s. The 737s are OK and in my experience better than A330s.

Long haul is the A380, 747 sadly missed. B787 is way down the list! The A330 is nice on domestic flights but how on earth do they get away with them on long haul, sad for Px but the poor flight crew, no decent rest areas for them, can't be good.
Domestic is the A330 and B717 on short legs. The B 737 is a school bus, cheap and nasty!
