My shortest flight was when I visit Tokyo, Japan. It is a flight from Beijing to Tokyo. It was the shortest yet the fastest travel.

Well if we're talking GC Distance - either CNS to CNS (in a DC3) or archerfield to archerfield or caloundra to caloundra. But time wise these would have all been 30+ minutes.

This seems really strange - We are talking about the shortest flight here - IMO that is not so much of a short flight

I guess it depends on what measure of short you use. My shortest flight was SYD-MEL and RT in the early 1960s. My first flight as a whipper snapper - I was very short then

My shortest flight was a hop from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur - around 35 minutes. I barely had time to have a drink and fill out my immigration card. The transfer from the airport into the KL CBD was three times longer than the flight!

Bordered Rex a couple of times in Sydney at 6.10am
bus to plane
Safety demonstration
propellors on for a few minutes
Propellors off and comments about engine problem
bus back to terminal

A bit depressing before 7 in the morning, and tempting to just go home again!!

ISA - CNJ is only 25 minutes scheduled but can be done less than this.

Have done this flight a number of times & usually around 20 mins. Done it once & was the only passenger I had to sit at the back & the hostie sat beside me to balance the plane

It wasn't a commercial flight, but YMIG to the hill range about 3 km south...where we crashed!!. Ouch! (first person to correctly identify YMIG wins)

"Any flight you walk away from is a good one ":D

As a charter pilot some years ago - MEB to MEL , but the shortest was HBA to Cambridge about 2 k's - cleared for a left then a right with a straight in approach.

My shortest flight (baring take-off and landing at the same airport) was last week when I flew PAO-SQL (Palo Alto to San Carlos, California). Its 7nm according to Great Circle Mapper, but took us about an hour via the scenic route ;)

I did a Nazca lines tour flight couple years ago - lasted about 20 minutes. Probably didn't fly more than 10km from the airport and back. Does that count?

Vilanculos, Mozambique, to Benguerra Island, a couple of years ago.
Around ten minutes by chopper.
Too gorgeous to leave, so took the longer route back by sea.

I did Tobago to Port of Spain it was about 10-15 minutes. You couldn't even pre-book a ticket you just rocked up to the airport bought a ticket and jumped on the next plane. A strange thing was that all the crew were from Scandinavia they must use it as some sort of training ground.

I also did Tel Aviv to Amman on RJ which was about 20 minutes its only 130km away.

I know there has been some talk around the worlds shortest flight on another thread , this prompted me to have a bit of search and stumbled upon an old Airlines of NSW timetable http://www.timetableimages.com/ttimages/wx/wx76.pdf

It shows many short hops between towns but the one i noticed as being the shortest was a scheduled service from Finley(FLY) to Deniliquin(DNQ) which was only 10 mins in a Piper Cherokee with Macknight Airlines who must have had an affiliation with Airlines of NSW

for the record my shortest flight was NRA-GFF

Thanks for the link-will print & forward to a lady who used to work for 1 of the booking offices

Shortest flights by distance (in a 747) 52 and 69 kilometres...

Shortest flight by time (and duty carried out, not just a circuit and land)... 7 minutes. That was Sydney to Nowra. If you work out the ground speed it was a fairly decent average.
