What was your shortest flight ?

Used to land in Narrabri and then in Moree (forgotten airport codes MRE I think) which took about 10 minutes on the triangle flights to and from Sydney.

Also flew from Hwange National Park (formerly 'Wankie') in Zimbabwe to Victoria Falls, also about 10 minutes. The only flight I've ever been on where they didn't do a safety demo. I think they forgot.

My shortest commercial is Rose Bay -> Newcastle Harbour in an amphibious C208 Amphibian (20 minutes). My shortest non-commercial would be a 5-minute heli circuit around NTL, and a 20 minute flight around CES in a C152.

I've done CBR/SYD or verse vica in under 30 minutes many times. The cabin crew call it the Food Service Olympics as they hand out the bread and water. "Prepare the cabin for landing" the captain will say before they are finished serving the stuff out!

But I have managed to get 3 glasses of wine down my throat in J!

I have always had decent service in and out of the capital

San Miguel to Terceira in the Azores-about 20mins.

It was myfirst trip to the US air base, booked by corporate travel. Got out of the airport at San Miguel and asked a taxi driver to take me to the base. "Wrong island" he says!. More than mildly embarrassed I go back into the terminal and get the next inter-island flight to the right island.

NAN-PTF. 16 miles, scheduled 10 mins in an ancient BNI.

Used to regularly do the SYD-CBR with AN long ago, when the flight path was generally more direct than now. Recall flight times of 22 mins or so. And AN used to serve breakfast.

DRW to DRW probably less than 10 mins - we were heading to DIL & just after takeoff I was thinking to myself that normally the wheels would have gone up by now & it would be funny if they'd left the nosewheel pin in. A couple of seconds later the intercom phone rings from up front saying just that & we'd be returning to DRW.

Was a quick fix obviously but we were still a bit late getting to DIL. I had barely opened the door when the ground handler says "I hear you left the nosewheel pin in", ADF logistics guy said the same thing & I said to them "gee, good news travels fast".

I was almost going to add to my welcome aboard PA for the return flight "we apologise for the late departure which was due the nosewheel pin being left in" but figured all of them knew anyway so it would be yesterdays news.
