Rent bidding is illegal in Queensland. Landlords (or their agent) can ask people to name their best price. Advertised rent must be fixed.

But it’s not illegal for a prospective remnant to voluntarily offer a higher amount than stated.

I would double check the rules, and see if it gives you some flexibility.

Oh! You’re right. My bad. The law has changed.

I hope they have ways to monitor and enforce it.

Any thinking outside the box ideas? If the place is in good condition offer to pay first $100 of any repairs/callouts? Might be cheaper than an extra $20 in rent.

So if a renter offered more than the advertised rate, the offer was accepted and then renter complained to the authorities do you think that renter would ever again be allowed to rent?

Probably not able to easily monitor but I don't want to test it.

(Note some people have said to me they have offered $5-$10 more and it worked.)

This is for anyone who owns a Microsoft Surface Laptop.

WCMO is those rubber "feet". Sure, they do a great job of anti-slip, but they are stuck (glued) onto the base, and the problem is that they start to loosen from their foundations relatively quickly. I guess they were figuring that people wouldn't try and drag their laptop across surfaces such that it imparts a lot of force on the feet, but it becomes really annoying once those feet start to become loose.

WCMO… the latest end-of-year commercials for the Miele sales.

10% off and ‘an incredible’ 5-year warranty.

No!!! I’d expect my premium dishwasher to last a lot longer than five years thank you! A five year warranty is pathetic, not ‘incredible’.

I also think the retailer advertising the above - and Miele too - are being misleading. Your statutory rights will likely give you a lot longer than a 5 year warranty, yet I’m sure plenty of people somehow link the ‘incredible’ warranty period with the end of their rights.

Today it's bad pizza. It's bland and they cut into tiny pieces like it's for a day care. I've put mixed herbs and garlic on this and it's still terrible




Also the neighbours non stop barking dog, maybe a new dog?

And my masseuse today, who seemed to have been working out some angst against middle aged women and taking it all out on me today because she kept giggling while saying, 'Yes, sore... very sore', while continuing to pummel me with her mighty but small hands

Salt. And extra virgin olive oil or chilli olive oil! Can rescue just about any pizza!

Extra cheese, lots of ham/salami, capsicum and olives.

I do this with just about every supermarket pizza and it tastes great.
