My partner was informed that they are handed out after the 3 month minimum period. Regardless of qualifying spend.

Unfortunate but understandable with people getting the points and probably trying to cancel the card straight away.
This was the slightly annoying response I also got! I cancelled after 3 months and 2 days (after the points posted) :) ..officially churned

I wish ours posted that quick.
My partner likes the card and our other NAB cards are going to be shredded pretty soon I think she might stick with this card set.

I am going to stick to my amex ultimate and qantas mastercard for now.

I applied this evening and was approved. I was somewhat bemused by the "Occupation" section, though. It's a series of two drop-downs, where you can only select from their lists. I'm in the IT / Telecommunications field, but the closest that I could find was something like "Computing Professional". It would've been so much easier if I was a Rabbi or a Gravedigger.

My partners card arrived within 3 business days over here in Perth so you may be surprised.

When she applied for my supplementary card it took about 4 business days from memory as well.
Does your supplementary card have the same number as the primary card?

I have just applied for this, 2 days before the deadline. No immediate approval so haev to wait.... IME, this means they just need to see my payslips.

I tweeted and they realised they had stuffed up.

They said the points have been allocated and should arrive next points sweep.

I'll believe it when I see it

Did you reach the spend before the 1st statement?

Yes I did, called Westpac after the 2nd statement and got confirmed my spend has been reached before the 1st statement. They said wait for the third statement and I got the points after the third one.

As I thought. I'm now approved. Time to harvest the 100k points.

Got my 80k points a few weeks ago, it took 2 or 3 months after hitting the min spend. Will now churn card

This earn and churn card is working out so far. The initial 20,000 bonus points for account opening have been credited to my QFF account along with associated spend points and bonus points for QF spend.

I'm nearly there on the 5k spend to scoop up the remaining 80,000 points.

How long ago did you apply? I'm 2.5 month in and no bonus points at all. Hit the spend pretty much straight away.

Has anyone had any luck when being rejected having the application reviewed. I accidentally left off rental income on my application despite putting the mortgages down on my application. It didn't reject right away but my application was locked and I was unable to amend it when I realised. I spoke to the phone consultants 5 times over 7 days who on most times they told me that they were emailing IT to have it unlocked. One time I was told it had gone to a supervisor for review and the last time I was just told it was rejected. I never received any correspondence regarding the rejection and thought it to be a bit weird. Last week I put in a complaints form regarding this and asked for a review but haven't heard anything yet. Any suggestions for what I should do? despite having a rejection on my books I missed out on the 100K points. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My 20K finally arrived with my third statement (they gave me an annual refund). Made the $5k spend shortly after the first statement and have been promised I'll get the 80K with the next statement. Will keep this until the Amex goes in April and then churn. Has anyone tried for an annual fee refund or points top up for them removing the Amex and associated benefits (Sydney intl lounge passes for one)?

Apologies for asking this question if it was already raised (couldn't find one in this specific thread).

Does Council rate payment get excluded for the $5K spend threshold to be eligible for the bonus points? I have seen this query for other cards but unsure for the Westpac card. Thank you

It doesn't - I've clarified a couple of time with them over the phone and even recorded their phone call. It definitely counts towards the spending for meeting the spending requirement.
