I think i signed up with the pointhack 100k bonus points promo but i can't quite remember. Just wondering, what's the best number to call westpac on to check without getting a run around?

1300 887 820 is the altitude rewards centre number. They were able to tell me right away the pending points and when they were due to be posted

thanks, other option was card solutions who looked into it for me. They had to liaise with someone else as well to find the info. The altitude rewards centre couldn't tell me unfortunately.

Well, I'm pleasantly surprised. I just received my most recent statement and the 80,000 points were listed and have now credited to QFF. 100,000 plus spend points. Time to cancel and move on to the next one.

Hi, can I spend more than $5000 on government fee (eg Australian government Visa fee) to trigger the 80k bonus points for Westpac Altitude Black.

There seems to be a grey area.

"Eligible purchases do not include fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, BPAY, BPAY equivalent transaction, refunds and balance transfers debited from the card account."

Hi everyone
I recently received the remaining 80,000 points on this deal.
I am eyeing other credit cards at the moment but will need to close my Westpac card to get my available credit limit down.
The problem is that I don't want to lose the two lounge passes that come with the card. Do I lose these if I cancel the card or is there some way to preserve them for future use?

cheers Peter

Fees usually means fees charged by the credit card company i.e. annual fee, atm fees etc. Purchasing a Visa is a sale not a fee, however some cards specifically do not award points for government payments (i.e. to the ATO) or give a lower point earn for government payments, so you would need to check that.

Once you close an account you can't expect to access any of its benefits, including club passes.

There's nothing to stop you getting the passes now though before you cancel the card.

Register here and make the required spend today:

Altitude Qantas Black - Home

Once you have the passes they should be valid for at least 12 months.

Note that the passes can take up to 4 weeks to arrive.

I thought the passes were digital? Are they like vouchers? Do you have to also show your card when redeeming them?

Cheers Peter

Now cancelled with a pro-rata refund of the annual fee, meaning I scooped 106,000 points for $50. Happy days!

They were the traditional paper vouchers when I got mine a few months ago. Even if they were evouchers it would make no difference to the advice already provided.

Paper passes look like these:

Thanks Dr Ralph
aside from buying Qantas flights what is the cheapest qualifying spend one can do to get the passes?
