Westpac Altitude 80K bonus QFF Points- $195 fee

Just a data point, I applied 3 months ago, hit the minimum spend a few days later. In that time had to call up to have my annual fee reduced from $395 to $195, and during this call was told I was in fact eligible for the 100k points and would receive them with my third statement (thought at the time this was wrong, but was willing to wait and see what I received). That has come and gone with no bonus (also outside the 12 week period after minimum spend is met that bonus points are supposed to be awarded), I called and they quoted the 12 month exclusion period (I had a card til late last year) as to why I hadn't received them. I told them I had applied through an offer with no exclusion, said I had a pdf of the T&C's (which I do) and even sent them a link to the site which is still up and running. They have gone away and will let me know in the next 3 business days. Will let you know how I get on

I received this card in early May and was charged the full $395 fee with no sign of any refunds. Called up Westpac to ask about it and was given a $250 refund for my trouble. I would advise keeping an eye on it and contact Westpac soon if nothing comes up.

Has anyone else had a delay in receiving their points? I met minimum spend mid-May but haven't seen anything yet (just the normal monthly top-ups) - I know they quote up to 3 months but I was hoping to see them sooner than that!

Those scumbags, we are only offered the $200 incorrect refund.

My partner asked about the points and was informed they are handed out after the three month period. So you should be getting yours around the next statement I guess.

I had the Westpac Altitude Black until a few months ago. But that time just 50K bonus QFF points, spend $2500, NO first year annual fees & 6 month 0% purchase rate.
And the bonus was sitting in to my Qantas acc already.
But now I'm thinking to cancel it and wait for next about this time and apply again...
Is that a good deal? How do you think for that?

May I ask if any of you here registered for the Priority Pass? Does the Priority pass need to be accompanied by the Westpac Black Amex or I can cancel the Westpac card once I receive the Priority pass with 2 visits loaded? If I want to bring a guest with me to the lounge can I pay the US$27 fee using another card? BTW I opted for the Qantas program when applying for the card, does it mean I am not eligible for the Priority pass program? Thank you.

I am pretty sure you are correct about being ineligible for the Priority pass. It is one or the other not both from what I am led to believe.

AUPoints no annual fee and 40k (or greater) sign up bonus is a great deal. Get the sign up bonus, cancel the card, switch to another card and after the exclusion period's over see what's available again.

i have both the qantas program and priority pass membership as a result of this card. i think the wording is that you shouldn't get both but i applied and got both.

That's very interesting, I might give it a shot.
How long did it take to receive the passes and do they have names on them? or do you need to show the Westpac bank card?

The inlaws fly to england today so they may be able to make use of it on the way back.

This is why I always PDF these days.
If you don't get success suggest you threaten FOS, this seems to get results. They may have intended that the 12 months exclusion apply but if it isn't in the T&C's on the page then FOS will rule in your favour.

it doesn't work like that. there are no physical passes. you register for a priority pass account and westpac add the passes to your membership. you need to show your priority pass membership card when entering the lounge.

I received my Priority Pass information on the same day I registered.

As to whether it is useful for your purposes, only you can decide that. Read their Terms & Conditions.

So to answer my own questions.
You get a digital card in phone app immediately but priority pass advise you to carry your card on you also.

The card is in your name so as long as they don't ask to see your boarding pass anyone could use your card.

Cancelled the Westpac Altitude Black in May and attempted to re-apply. Got a message of "We are sorry we cannot offer you a credit card at this time" once I submitted the application.

Thinking it may be due to me answering "No" to the first 2 questions of "Do you have a Westpac Account and are you registered for online banking". Logged on via Online banking as there was a note stating it might speed up the process but when reading the T&Cs using the bank's own site, the 12 month exclusion is clearly stated as compared to the link from Qantas.

Anyone experienced the same message? Are they getting smarter recognising names?

I applied last week and received my cards today. I just went online to activate my cards and saw that they bumped up the bonus points offer from today!! Too bad, so sad for me... but great for others looking to take up thisoffer.

Now offering 100K bonus QFF points.

This is what I see in the T&C's

"Existing Westpac customers who currently hold an Altitude Platinum credit card, or who have held one in the last 12 months are not eligible for this offer."

I have also held the Black card but while I think this is a misprint in the T&C's it makes no mention of holding a Black Card.

Thoughts?

I re-applied via the link provided from the QFF Special Offers page and there is no mention of 12months ineligibility. Kept a snapshot of the T&Cs as evidence
