I don't think there has been any malicious intent by the programmers to gyp us, probably more of a honest mistake
When having to decide between conspiracy or incompetence, it is usually the latter that is the root cause.

Would either of the mods keen to consider updating the title of this thread? I don't think there has been any malicious intent by the programmers to gyp us, probably more of a honest mistake

Can accept that, but when honest mistakes, or for that matter malicious intent are brought to their attention, then an honest and early remediation of the issue is required at their earliest opportunity.

Cheers NM, I'm glad to be able to make a token contribution to AFF... I still have a very long way to go

All such contributions are valuable and appreciated here. In the words of a Musical Theatre Director I know well and who does a lot of work with children's theatre shows, "There are no small parts, only small actors".

I too am curious about when/if we'll be able to retroactively claim SCs for previous KUL-BKK flights. Having done a couple SC runs in the past, I think I'm about 200SC out of pocket ;)

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how I should apply for the claim? The website does state

So how would this work?

I think this falls outside a traditional 'claim' where a flight may never have been credited at first instance. 12 months might make sense in that case, but where there's been an error there shouldn't be a reason to be limited by claim limitations.

Perhaps a list of flight you have taken, with associated SCs and miles, and ask for a manual readjustment to reflect the actual entitlements?

This would be via email to QFFF.

I flew on 28 June during current membership year. I am going to send an email as 20 SCs is ~$280 less I have to spend on BNE-SYD flights.

Guess they'll be charging extra for the award flights now (and backdating all the charges :) )

Award flight point levels are still based on 600, 1200, etc. mile zones.

It was the earning zones which they varied from the previous initial 600 to match Velocity with its initial zone of 750 miles. It was then that this ~750 mile segment became an issue.

I have a return bangkok - KL from back in 2015 with 40 status credits each way and 937 points. As I'm lifetime gold, I don't think I need the extra status credits, but might be nice if they counted towards this year. Do I risk losing approx. 200 points if I do a retrospective claim?
Opinions on where to claim or not?

might be nice if they counted towards this year.

The SC won't count towards this year, they will be backdated to 2015 and then immediately cancelled out.

Where's the 200 point risk coming from? The correct earn rate for KUL-BKK is 1375 points & 60 SC, so you stand to gain ~400 points.

I'd say claim - you have nothing to lose. The SC won't make any difference if you're already LTG but maybe one day they'll count to LTP. :p Helps others out by providing a data point too.

It would be nice if they counted, didn't think they would.

The potential lost points is I was paid 937 for each flight, but now it's 825 from what people have quoted in thread.

Life time platinum is like me hoping the backdated status would count for this year. lol

Will be interesting to see if they backdate, and if so, how far back they are prepared to go.
