Some nice hot food there.
I was in the Melbourne lounge for the first time recently and they had hotdogs for dinner...

Let's see what next week brings when I repeat the trip

Had that same thai chicken in BNE on Friday evening. Really nice with the coconut rice!

Im actually sick of the laksa. Never has any actual chicken, probably doesnt help that im not a tofu kind of guy lol

Mr Clipped would eat a jar of baby food before he'd touch tofu.

I on the other hand, could eat a number plate if you dipped it in gravy. So laksa doesn't scare me.

Please don't praise the hotdogs. I recall a few years ago we had a long and somewhat cranky campaign to get rid of the hotdogs.

LoL no praise here.
The nice comment was the previous posts, not the 'dogs.

Last night's pasta was very good though

Nam phrik pao chicken and coconut rice at SYD and OOL last Sunday.

Wild mushroom and ricotta ravioli with chilli and parmesan flakes in the MEL lounge this evening. Accompanied by bread rolls with a garlic butter centre.

Always good apron views from VA lounge as well... 20190310_193106-1612x1209.jpg

Edit: Went for seconds as I am schlepping across the country in Y for a change. Not worth the upgrade on the 73H...

Really nice wild mushroom ravioli pasta for dinner in the Melbourne lounge right now

Sorry beg to differ, I had that and it tasted like dried cardboard soaked in powdered mushroom soup left over from world war 2 with leftover milk from 2 weeks ago as sauce. I almost dry retched.

I took it back to the servery and the guy said ‘Not everyone loving this one’. Yeah really? I grabbed an apple. FFS Virgin lift ur game, your nearly bankrupt Chinese bosses can surely throw a bit more coin at catering!

Ouch. I happen to think @Pleb Status photos were very enticing. I don't really care if it wasn't 3 Michelin Stars. Roasted cardboard is fine with me. When you're a mother of four and cook for six every night - ANYTHING that someone else serves up on my night off, is always going to be divine.

I went back for seconds, so the ravoli could not have been too bad...

Others in the MEL lounge appeared to agree. When I arrived, two large bain-marie, each brimming with several kilograms of ravoli, had just been unveiled and the 'invasion' had commenced. Within 20-25 minutes, all was gone and the lounge staff were dealing with the aftermath. Looking around at the tables, there was not much evidence of mass rejection...

I may have been disappointed if I was paying $25-30/serve. But as a (nominally) free family friendly meal designed to 'fill the void', it fit the bill.

I’ve come across the mushroom ravioli plenty of times but as someone who won’t touch mushrooms I can’t vouch for the taste of it. Always seems to go pretty quickly though like any ravioli if it’s left for too long it will go rubbery and horrible

I was in the lounge for 2 hrs, every time the dishes were refilled there was a queue of 10-12ppl ready to take some.

No way was it bad
