Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

On SYD-MEL right now and got the scrambled eggs with chicken sausage (again). What happened to the bacon?

Ummm, bit of a fanboy when it comes to VA J catering ( for the price), but that looks nasty

From the description & photo it's totally cough to me, looks horrible.

The purple lighting always makes it difficult to take a decent photo, viz. throws off the colour balance altogether.

Can't quite tell what the rice is, and the chicken doesn't look like the greatest cuts, but if the taste is good (and the chicken isn't dry) then I'm happy to forgive.

It was actually pretty tasty. The rice wasn't dry (like in previous meals).

CBR>MEL, mid-afternoon flight.
Risoni salad with a lemon dressing, pickled onions, feta and grilled chicken. Was fresh, zingy and made for a perfect late lunch.
Other option was described as a vegetarian tortellini salad, with optional chicken. Didn’t see anyone pick that.

On a side note, the J seats looked and felt like they were fresh from the factory, without any scratches or marks yet…..but the tray table in my seat was incredibly saggy. To the point the meal tray even started to slide away on me at one point!

Some people open the tray table before the mechanism clicks in place hence why the saggy tray table.

Solution is to close it and reopen by having to pull the tray table right up from the stowage until it clicks in place and then open it up.

Just boarded and these are our seats. It's been so long since Ive flown domestic, didn't realise they removed the purple barrier behind J class

Haven't figured out how to get the tray out yet as its not popping up

You need to open the side (so on the right since you're in 1F) and lift the lever that's like a black square with a pictogram on it.

You might also want to delete that second photo; we know what your name and Velocity number is ...

NAN-MEL about a week ago, 7/8 in business class.

The best service I've had from an amazing CSM - Kept the water and gin and tonic full for the whole flight!

Food choices were a noodle dish and a beef curry (pictured) with great fresh rice, coleslaw and a very very nice pineapple cake/slice.

Kids were kept happy with cheese and crackers and maybe a few ham and cheese toasties...

KGI-PER in the E2 last Friday night. Both options were cold salads, understandable for such a short flight. Thoroughly enjoyed the pasta salad with parma ham and cheese. While the CM got myself and the other pax confused and was very apologetic - I didn't mind though. All staff on board seemed to be very switched on and proud of their new Jet (strictly I believe the first with J for VARA?)

Not pictured: the Grant Burge sparkling from the choice of "white or red".

Sydney to Launceston

Comfort food meals but nothing to rave about. No salad, no bread roll, some cheese and crackers and a sad single piece of Cadbury favourites as a sweet

Beef with mash and gravy and a mushy piece of broccoli or a Mexican bean and some bits of veggies with rice and optional added chicken. Was impressed with how much beef was served and wished there was more of the Mexican bean mix.

If you ask for more chocolate, the CSM will gladly bring you more. They have tim tams too. (IME if you ask for more than two refills, they eventually understand that you have a sweet tooth and bring a handful... 😁)

Probably best you don't mention any extra services offered. Don't want the crew getting in trouble with their good intentions!
