Just exactly how "Stonewell" is this 2015 from Vinomofo?
As pointed out above, the back label says it's "produced" by Peter Lehmann Wines at Tanunda, and "imported" into Dublin by Casella Family Brands (Europe).
Also, the carton is plain (which is in my guess is a cost thing so they don't produce different packaging for each country?) but has big stickers that say the wine is "produced and bottled" by Casella Family Brand at Yenda (ie nowhere near Tanunda, the Barossa or even South Australia).
Lastly and perhaps least of all:
- the front label is different to the 2011 that I have. It might be just me but I think it's odd that they change front label of a flagship wine, even for export.
- the bottles are not individually wrapped in tissue paper as per previous purchases, but that may also be a 6-pack case thing.
Is it usual for this or other flagship wines to be produced and bottled 600kms away from where the grapes are from, by another entity? How can we have confidence, or even know, that it's Stone Well grapes in the bottle?
Feels like a less than flagship experience but perhaps commensurate with the discount price.
