Vinomofo Wine Deals

..so the Jacquart is an ok deal ?
The "ladies" have scoffed most of my stash of the QF"f" dispersal and this seems a step up from the $60 street price of the std Jacquart brut.
I've just popped a bottle in the fridge for tonight, it's a reasonable drop.

Any suggestions for a good Riesling that is also a good deal? Love the Porongurup style riesling generally like Castle Rock or even Duke's Magpie Hill. All suggestions are appreciated

My early call is that they have not done so well ...a lot of characteristic hype but the numbers tell the tale
In the good 'ol days (who remembers…sigh) stuff sold out quickly..here very little has sold out..although the appetite for Grange seems ok.

Yeah its been a fizzer. I went in optimistic after the co-founder gave it a pump up via email yesterday. What a dud.

I did go in on the Reschke 2013 RSR thanks to the free shipping but overall I found the idea of launching a promo at 9am on a Friday pretty dumb - I was still stuck in a car on the way to work at that time, I'm not sure I even looked at their offerings until 4pm and by then it was just more of the same as they usually list day in and day out.

Agree. I went in on the Reschke 2013 RSR also. The 2014 was great so looking forward to trying the 2013

Real bargains were non existent, the deals no different to normal as a matter of fact a lot of them were already on the site previously and the discounts likewise. Looked for the first hour and then gave it away. I was lucky to land on a fridge magnet but all I got was the usual error, the page cannot be found.

It's always the high rrp wines that generate the most curiosity... and the most dissapointment
From Huey Lewis and the News comes a classic but Oh So relevant misohoney-
Doctor Doctor give me the news I have a bad case of Doc Adams 1838. I ain't lovin' you though.

This one was a six pack at $25 Vino bucks. Not cheap but certainly nasty. $150 for a sixer.
Had one, emailed the broker, picked up remaining 5 only 2 days later. Not an uncommon return, wink wink nudge nudge.

Again service at the Fo is absolutely faultless so I turned six at $25 into 12 at $15(throw in $30extra) with a big shoutout to Whininganddining for alerting me to it, the 2018 Cabernet Barrossan Blend that is the Shotfire Q.
Ladies and Gents, I didn't get four Q. I got 12. Again, after the same August purchase with my pommy born brother doing his best Jacko in love Thy Neighbour...........lets reminisce a little about how good that show really was - "I'll 'av 'arf " .

Yes some of the high rrp wines do disappoint. Here's another one.

Someone made mention of trying the 2019 Jilyara The WIlliams Block Cab Sauv a few weeks back and saying it was quite thin. Cracked it today and I have to agree. For over $70 retail, I found nothing redeeming about it. Someone in WA is clearly taking the pee eye double five. I hate to say it because I am not a penfolds buyer per se but the Penfolds crowd would be giving you something you would certainly not be returning if it cost $70. And at $210 a 6 pack, this one was up there in the 'Fos pricing structure. But it's no good. Our initial wine critic was right and i feared that 2 to 3 weeks later remenbering your comment. You know who you were.

The 5 remaining are going back. But help.

What do i change it for with guaranteed success Fo afficianados?

The Victorian Chardonnay (black market deal 42516) for $11.50 a bottle is apparently Tallarook. This used to be auctioned on Grays for around $7-8 a bottle.
Hmm very interesting. Had a 2018 roussanne yesterday that was getting a bit bitter now oddly from my purchases last year direct cellar door for about $8 a bot. The mailing list always has the 40 to 50 per cent off but once you jack up the retail, then 50% sounds good but it aint what i got a few for. The chardy was good from memory. The old owner Luis Riebl of the winery was a shrink and his son was the lead singer of the cat empire and luis called one of his wines terra felix because felix is the singer and his son. Nooice. They are lovely people, including felix's sister. Small world. But i would not want to paint it. At present tallarook is owned by chinese concerns.

sigh.. just finished my second Jilyara from a recent purchase.
The first was a just so so quaffer and this one was fantabulous ..IMo would have held its own in most line ups…..so there ya go beef_armer... ☺️

Hmmmm... that's good to have confirmation about the jilyara. I was considering. One of the VM brokers recently described it to me in an email exchange as 'a cracker'. Booo.

... and then some positive comments as I'm writing! Sheesh. But does sound a bit variable maybe - or is that the drinkers?!
