Vinomofo Wine Deals

About to receive first delivery with new contractor, "Home Delivery Service" (homedelivery.com.au). I say about because I am receiving notifications by email and via text to indicate it arriving tomorrow, today, and now 5 minutes away.
And arrival on time ...
Not delivered according to instructions however. I caught the driver as he was hopping back into his van and he insisted he did not have the instructions on his delivery sheet.
Still, it arrived as notified. If HDS can improve on specific instructions to their drivers they are off to a good start.
Yeah, I'm getting messages from HDS, but the delivery is actually coming via Aus Post.

Yeah, I agree with TS on the Plowman, while the fruit is good, it's soft and very medium-bodied, with only a little fine tannin and fairly low acid level indicating only short-term cellaring, it is drinking quite nicely as a young wine though.

In a recent tasting it ranked down the back end of a set of 6, with Ch Tanunda Terroirs Eden Valley 2018, Yangarra Kings Wood 2019, Haselgrove The Ambassador 2017, Thorn-Clarke Ron Thorn 2017 and Epic Negociants Apollonian 2019 all more impressive. I was a little underwhelmed by the Ron Thorn after all the hype, big old-style Barossa Shiraz, but this bottle showing some volatility (cork sealed) and a slight hard edge to the tannin.
Thanks RB. I've handed on a few of the six I bought, with a warning that it might not live up to the styling and hype.

I don't know about new wine but I just jumped on a dozen of the Farmer's Leap Shiraz 2015 – Black Market Deal #34901 as I had credit sitting in my a/c plus free shipping. I've had it a couple of times before and really enjoyed it as a weekday quaffer, I actually think it is a more characterful wine than their flagship "The Brave" but YMMV....

If you are a chardonnay lover, I thought this was very smart:

Chardonnay 2020 – Black Market Deal #39869

check if kemmenys still has any of the 2016 hazels chardonnay for $35.
was one of my favs when tasting in MR pre covid and now at a great price.
The winemaker is the guy who really established cloudy bay and cape mentel, so it has a great story as well.

as for wills domain... well it just erks me as a dan murphys discounter trick which is only ever sold at 70% off (like ulithorne or artisans... you know what i mean) but perhaps im just a cynic

2013 was great but returned 2014. I may have just had a dud bottle or cork. Have you tried 2015 yet?
