Tastes vary and I prefer my plonk dry and austere.
This tastes to me like a heavily tarted up lowish grade base product.
Otoh, others may love it.. we are all different..
I am happy to keep it as a very expensive quaffer...
Fair enough. With so much heavily discounted Australian wine available you really want a bottle you’ve paid $30 to be of a high standard.

With VM’s incredibly generous return policy why not just send it back and get a full refund? I do that all the time if I feel I haven’t got value. Seems to be about 50% of the time these days.

Have you opened that '15 rolo? Wonder if I need to try mine to see if I need to use the return policy.

I ended up getting the bog standard serralunga 2015 which is excellent so have no doubt that the Cerretta will be better still

Try it! You can always return after trying one?
I have some Ceretta 09 from a different producer, and while it's a great wine, it's still in wall of tannins mode, so I'd definitely have second thoughts about opening a 15 unless you are a real mouth masochis_ 😁😋

subscribed to both Huon Hooke and James Halliday
Personally over the years my gut prefers to rate HH that bit more over JH (IMO only..!)
Paladin matrix '19 is a 97 JH but a 91 HH..
cellaring JH to 2046 HH to 2036..
bit confused...
have a doz '18 vintage and no regrets. will boom this ... time will tell

red bigot - tried subscribing once and it was ultra secure :) .. you actually rejected and refunded money...think too long activate.. will try again sometime..

JH for WA is now Erin Larkin, she did the TN for the 2019.

Still available VM, sold out at winery and sold out @ $19 at Nicks, just grabbed a case @ $13.50, thanks W&D.
If there’s anyone in Melb that did the same and wants to swap 6 for the Riverside GMS, head to the share a case thread?

Powell & Son Riverside GSM 2018 would be my reco. It is a great brand (had their shiraz that is a top notch) and I bet that GSM would be a nice drop too."

Tasted this GMS last night, 1st venture into a Grenache Blend, quite enjoyed it in every respect, would pick it up again & rec. to a friend. 👍

VM stil has it as above - Powell & Son Riverside GSM 2018
4.1 Vivino, $12.50, excellent VFM drop.
Note, it is the GMS as per the VM pic, not GSM as advertised.
Got mine yesterday, opened one today. First glass I thought was a bit average, but now the bottle is empty ?

Been waiting for a CB bonus or something

No.

They used to use couriers and that was an utter disaster.

Things imporved signficiantly once they started using Australia Post. Same occured for Grays wine deliveries.

If Vinomofo go back to using couriers, I'm out.

Currently using Australia Post with poor customer experiences, me included. Wine left in full sun at top of steep driveway in full view of street instead of at front door per instructions. VM are looking at alternative solutions as meetings with AusPost have not been fruitful.

About to receive first delivery with new contractor, "Home Delivery Service" (homedelivery.com.au). I say about because I am receiving notifications by email and via text to indicate it arriving tomorrow, today, and now 5 minutes away.
And arrival on time ...
Not delivered according to instructions however. I caught the driver as he was hopping back into his van and he insisted he did not have the instructions on his delivery sheet.
Still, it arrived as notified. If HDS can improve on specific instructions to their drivers they are off to a good start.

Well done. Interested what you think of the Z wine... I bought some even though it is given a very short drinking window for a premium shiraz by T Stelzer writing for Halliday. I'm now scared to try it!

Yeah, I agree with TS on the Plowman, while the fruit is good, it's soft and very medium-bodied, with only a little fine tannin and fairly low acid level indicating only short-term cellaring, it is drinking quite nicely as a young wine though.

In a recent tasting it ranked down the back end of a set of 6, with Ch Tanunda Terroirs Eden Valley 2018, Yangarra Kings Wood 2019, Haselgrove The Ambassador 2017, Thorn-Clarke Ron Thorn 2017 and Epic Negociants Apollonian 2019 all more impressive. I was a little underwhelmed by the Ron Thorn after all the hype, big old-style Barossa Shiraz, but this bottle showing some volatility (cork sealed) and a slight hard edge to the tannin.
