Vinomofo Wine Deals

I bought a case before its A2B Great Southern Cabernet and its a great wine. ( if only I could get a shiraz of theirs from the Fo)

You could, at one point. They had a shiraz on a week or two before the cabernet. It might come back if you keep an eye out. Same vintage, same region, same pricing, so you should easily enough recognise it if it does.

Thanks for that I will watch the site carefully.

Bought a previous vintage of this from the Fo and thought it was a fantastic Shriaz....bit peeved I missed out.

Decided I need to replenish some bottles so picked up a case of the 2014 Lou Miranda Golden Lion Shiraz along with a case of Fox Gordon Sauv Blanc.

Mitolo Savitar is my guess

If so, I'd steer clear. Well over what you should be paying. I know that within the last 2 years the 2007 was selling for under $30 a bottle.

This wine consistently fails to sell at the recommended retail price and is often available at steep discounts.

The normal retail price for this item should be around $50 a bottle.

Thank you fellow members. Is it worth buying?

Only you can make that judgement. It's got pretty good scores:
Decanter 98 /100
James Halliday 96 /100
Robert Parker The Wine Advocate 96 /100
The Wine Front 96 /100
Jeremy Oliver 94 /100
Wine Enthusiast 93 /100
CellarTracker (61 notes) 91 /100
Wine & Spirits Magazine 91 /100
Huon Hooke 89 /100
Jancis Robinson 17 /20

That said, I have no idea whether this is a museum release direct from Mitolo, or some stock that's been sitting who-knows-where.

The $30 2007 stuff that Dr Ralph mentions was stock returned from overseas IIRC (I think I have a box left). '07 also wasn't as good a year as '05.

I guess you can always return it to VM if you don't like it...

I called VM about this, and they assure me it's direct from Mitolo cellars, and not repatriated stock from overseas, or from a 3rd party collection, so I decided to get a 6-pack. Will have a look-see when the box arrives.

No. Over priced. I hate paying too much for wine so I wouldn't buy at that price. Much better value elsewhere.

Additionally, scores available for that wine are average.

I'm not so sure, I tried the 2010 of this the other day and it was magnificent. This 2005 vintage is rated higher than that and comes with more bottle age to boot. Also taking into account the fact that 2005 was a legendary vintage in this region. I've roped in a colleague to take two of them so am going to splurge!
