Vinomofo Wine Deals

Just got back from a long weekend in the Hunter.

Spent a small fortune on wine including (as a treat) a bottle of Lake's Folly Chardonnay. This wine is head and shoulders above every other Chardonnay I've ever tasted in the Hunter. It really is spectacular. $75 a bottle but just as good as the Leeuwin Estate Art Series IMHO.

Also went to Ridge View because they have a 2011 Chardonnay and 2011 Shiraz on VM. I'd say both wines would be excellent acquisitions because although I didn't actually manage to try these vintages, the wineries other wines in this price bracket were very good. The girl there told me that they had far too much wine in stock and that VM got an absolute steal on these wines. I'd love to make the purchase but have no realistic storage options for yet more wine now.

Also went to Hungerford Hill to try the Gundagai to see what all the fuss was about and agree its a stonker. They were actually selling it for $20 a bottle as a six on the cellar door. How much was it going for on here? Can anyone remember.

Finished off at Peterson's which is always and excellent cellar door experience and they had a full selection for us to taste.

its not VM, but sign up to Dan Murphy club and you can get 2 pack of Sieur d'Arques Grande Cuvée 1531 de Aimery and Sieur d'Arques Première Bulle Brut for $16.99.
Spectacular pricing.

Does anybody know if the above deal is a month long special? I have signed into my dans account but it does not show up... But it has a max purchase of 3 per day but for one bottle price?

I've had a few of these delivered in mof_ salvation cases and would never have guessed they were $8. I'd certainly recommend it at that price

Think it was around $12 a bottle...bloody bargain.

OK, I decided to open the infamous Cantiniere and see for myself. My two pennies are: Not a typical McLaren Vale wine in my mind, perhaps lacking usual regional characteristics, being softer, lighter bodied, a little delicate and not overly fruit forward. Completely over inflated RRP, probably a Dans RRP $20 more appropriate, however not a bad little wine that is inoffensive enough and easy drinking. Give it a few years and it should round out as a nice little quaffer.
