Velocity Website errors - Master List

Has anyone noticed the variable pricing for return flights? Just checked prices for CBR-PER return. If the date is the same (8th March), the cost of the flights there and back are cheaper, then if say, I put in the return flight on another day such as the 11th. Flights for both departure and return change.
 
Other Issues - Status on other parters is not being considered with seat preallocation.

My Air NewZealand Gold Elite status gives the same online availability as a Velocity NR! (Same with Expert flyer, but I suspect that's related to the former.)
 
Web site confirmation page lists J reward seat redemption as "Any Seat Economy".

Emailed confirmation lists J reward seat redemption as "Confirmed Business".

Which is correct? VA web site, or emailed confirmation?


I'm over all this guessing game cough.

Are anyone else having an error come up when trying to log into Velocity?

It seems very odd as it does log me in but can't access the summary page. ERROR keeps being displayed (yesterday and today). I can however, use the quick links to the left of page to see my flight history, bookings etc, just not the main summary (home) page.

Anyone else?
 
Yes, this has been the case for me for all but the first couple of days since the site reopened.

I was about to click the "Like" button for your reply to aknowledge thanks for your input.........but then thought "liking" a VA web fault may be akin to giving the thumbs up to the Titanic. :shock:

So instead, I'll clarify........thank you Fruitcake for your confirmation I'm not the only one experiencing this error. Much appreciated.

I also have this problem and also click one of the options to the left which opens up the site as normal. It's a total PITA
 
When you finally login and want to make a reward booking, you then login again and find that your points available hasn't changed since Monday 14th.

Apparently the booking page and the Velocity account page don't talk to each other. Another PITA
 
They still haven't updated flights from 10th Jan that I submitted on 18th...the countdown to 7 days processing is getting closer.

These flights should give me Plat, assuming they process them correctly (flown date).

Looks like they'll miss a booking to ADL for next week, QF JASA here I come

I have one of the two flights from the week before S-Day (Sabre day) still outstanding. Put in a retro claim on Sunday, auto reply tells me my account WILL be credited within 7 days (no mention of whether that is 7 work days or calendar days), so worst case scenario (clear working days) for me is effectively months end. I've 4 flights this week so I'll see how they go and if they stuff up, I'll give VA a wide berth until we can see light in the black hole!

Hi swanning_it, had the same problem booking reward seats the other day - 2 J class BNE-LA. Website confirmation showed any seat economy, but ticket came through as business (including seat selection -2A/C. Phoned Virgin immediately and (after waiting an eternity and shuffled around a few times), spoke with client services who confirmed that ticket is business class. Had to admit, freaked out slightly when booking though - so hope VA sort this problem out ASAP!!!

As an aside, took me awhile to get my head around the new reward booking system - when you select a fare, shows the total points payable (both as points (inc taxes) and points + pay). When selecting the fare, doesn't show up until right at the end of the booking that you can do the points plus pay - which I've not come across before (QF shows you points, but you can select if you want to use points to pay taxes at the end, not the other way around and delete them at the end). I've booked many reward fares on QF so didn't think I was that stupid :oops:, but given I didn't want a problem with making the booking, phoned Virgin to query. Might pay Virgin to make the reward booking process a little clearer to limit these types of phone calls to GCC.

Oh, one more thing. Does anyone else find it frustrating that when you log-in to your Velocity account and select 'My Bookings' you have to log-in again to see them?

I had the same situation, web showed any seat economy after booking 2 J flights - but email then showed business as did virtuallythere so left it as that and hope.........
At least you can log in and see your bookings, mine just says nothing to retrieve, again can see the bookings on virtuallythere but nothing on virgin site - quite frustrating.
 
yes agree dont like the new my bookings page, also the fact you cant see a list of your old flights

I am seeing the same thing - no one-way or return flights available at all anywhere in Australia after about the 27th Jan to 01st Feb depending on city. Must be re-loading the entire VA flight schedule.
 
A lot of the connecting flight options are gone by the look of things. I was looking to book a reward flight back from PER-SYD in early Feb and wanted to route via MEL for some extra SCs yet most of the options are now gone. Only a few via ADL and a red eye option via MEL when previously there was a heap of options via ADL, MEL, BNE etc etc. Hope they come back but I'm not holding out much hope due to the way things have been going of late..

I'm starting to really not like this new booking engine and really hope they sort it out quick smart amongst their other current problems or unfortunately it looks like it's back to QF for a while..

Yes. Frustrating is polite.
