So in your eyes Joe Biden should have been impeached when he was VP because he has admitted withholding aid to Ukraine until a prosecutor investigating his son was sacked.
As for Trump it is not illegal to ask for someone to be investigated for corruption.
Watch the video in this article.

And most of the incriminating words come from the MSM or Obama officials.
From the wiki page of Viktor Shonkin (the prosecutor Joe Biden wanted fired):

"Shokin claimed in May 2019 that he had been investigating Burisma Holdings.[30][43][44] However, Vitaly Kasko, who had been Shokin's deputy overseeing international cooperation before resigning in February 2016 citing corruption in the office, provided documents to Bloomberg News indicating that under Shokin, the investigation into Burisma had been dormant.[45][46]

The investigation into Burisma only pertained to events happening before[47] Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, joined the board of directors of Burisma Holdings in 2014.[48]"

he wanted Biden investigated, he has his Attorney General (who is just as much a Trump sycophant) to hold the investigation, He didn't need and should not have asked Ukraine to do this.

What Trump said was this (paraphrased) " i would like you to do us a favour, look into this situation (not about Biden).... can i get my attorney general to call your people". It was mentioned 3x in the call that The A/G will get in touch to proceed with matters. Biden wasnt mentioned until later in the call.

So Trump actually did what you said he should have done, so what was illegal?

So unfortunately, whilst you may feel this or that about it, the letter of law is clear, and Trump violated it, and his supporters have basically moved from a position of "he didn't" to" so what?"
the "so what" was the first position by supporters, still is and from many of his detractors too, nothing has changed there. . I havent heard anyone ever say "he didnt".

Sorry but that is fake news.Read the article i linked to and watch the video.State department officials warned the then VP that all was not right.
Sure the initial investigation was for events before Hunter Biden joined the board but the corruption continued after Hunter Biden. After Shokin was fired the investigation into Burisma was dropped but taken up again after his replacement was fired.

You also may not be aware of this recent developement.

“During the period 2014-2016, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine was conducting a preliminary investigation into a series of serious crimes committed by the former Minister of Ecology of Ukraine Mykola Zlotchevsky and by the managers of the company ‘Burisma Holding Limited’ (Cyprus), the board of directors of which included, among others, Hunter Biden, son of Joseph Biden, then vice-president of the United States of America,”
Hunter Biden joined the board in 2014.Joe Biden got Shokin fired in Jan 2016.
Hunter Biden was paid $US83333 a month even though he had no expertise in oil and gas.

Is anyone so naive to think that business people in foreign countries (oligarchs and the like) that get involved with either Hunter Biden (when Biden was VP) or the Trump/Kushner clan (now) purely because of their expertise? This presidential (adult) children stuff is as close to corruption as you can get, without being corruption.

Of course he is up himself, but so are many politicians - but if he is a Harvey Weinstein, then matters should follow the same course. There are politicians down under who have done their share of pu**y grabbing, but just not mentioned it near a recording device. And I have worked with my share of boasters about similar antics - and found out later that it was someone totally unexpected that was an actual doer.

My wife says if he tried it with her it would be the last thing he did.

And elections are not about moral superiority - they are about who gets the most votes.

Anyone that has spent time in a male environment I.E, SLSC, footy clubs, etc, would hear worse than that on any given Sunday.

These days, women speak the same way. Equality at it's best!

Seems DT has had a bump in the opinion polls since impeachment.

Here's a conspiracy theory .. the whole impeachment thing was orchestrated to position and promote Biden as being shady (due to his son's dealings) , and to stop him becoming the candidate. Pick your person who orchestrated it, DT himself, Republicans, Bernie, Bloomberg , Deep State ...... 🤪

I just read a theory it was all about holding Sanders and Warren back .... its all BS. The only thing that counts is the votes on election day.

Good to see the impeachment farce over. Trump gave an outstanding State of the Union speech and Pelosi managed to lose the election for the Dems with her juvenile response. She should have retired 10 years ago.

The macho African Americans won't vote for Mayor Pete - so he'd lose.

Bernie Sanders is a socialist who wants a huge uncosted healt insurance system which he has no idea how much it would cost, not to mention the Green New Deal - so he'd lose.

Joe Biden - wants to close fossil fuel industry as one of his first acts as President, suggests coal miners should become computer programmers, and the whole Impeachment trial as well as the recent book about him and his family making huge fortunes from his Vice Presidency, has most everyone thinking he's corrupt - so he'd lose.

Liz Warren - just lies continuously about things that supposedly happened to her, and she can't drink a beer properly, and is so super-Woke that she will get a nine year old trans-gender child (is there such a thing?) to pick her Education Secretary - so she'd lose.

Mike Bloomberg and Tom Steyr - so long as they are running, they can spend enormous amounts of their own money attacking Trump without violating election laws, and will have leverage with whichever Democrat hopefully wins. They don't want to be President.

That leaves only one other possibility - the supposedly Rightful President, and the only one who can bring the utterly fractured party together - Hillary Clinton.
Regards.

And there‘s one person who actually believes that HC lost the popular vote? Guess who? 🤣

I don't get the obsession with the popular vote. The election is not about the popular vote, it is about winning under a complex system - and if you win the election under the system put in place under the constitution, then you get to be POTUS.

For example no party has won the popular vote in Australia in recent years, all rely on the preferences from others. That's our system which has in the past seen parties win the most preferences and lose the election.

Bush Jnr & Trump won their elections by winning the most delegates in the colleges - that is the system they have.

Exactly. Perhaps I was too subtle. DT has made it quite clear that he does not accept that he dIdn’t win the popular vote, regardless of the fact that he won the presidency anyway.

i used to watch Planet America because it was funny waiting for the penny to drop. Then I realised that the Americans didn’t care.

And we aren’t much better here, after all. Bridget McKenzie gets demoted on a technicality rather than the corrupt use of public funding.. Angus Taylor gets off scot free for libelling Clover Moore with a fraudulent document.

We get the politicians we deserve .....

We sure do. I remember the Pink batts affair (the loss of life there wasn't a technicality) , the School halls affair etc. Dragging one side of politics' foibles into these threads will usually mean exposure of the other side's. Lets keep this to USA politics, eh?

Aah beginning to think these sort of threads are futile. No analysis, no contesting of ideas. Actually quite predictable, can almost guess who is going to chime in and what they will say. Dump on the personalities or defend the personalities, that’s what modern politics is I guess.

In some ways it’s like one eyed football team supporters - except the difference being one eyed supporters, even though they will support their team come hell or high water, can be extremely critical of week to week decisions of the coach, but in politics the side one is supporting can never do any wrong it seems.
