TomCat's new digs!

Be aware that the grass selected won’t keep pure. You’ll get other sorts in, like the lighter ‘winter grass’. Annoying at first, then meh, it’s all grass.

I put irrigation sprinklers into a small area. Waste of time. Therapeutic to hand water.

There are selective herbicides for control of winter grass in warm-season grass turf.

In Sydney, Dural Christmas tree farm, you can go out in Sept'ish and tag your own tree for cut down in Dec. They deliver and remove as well but obviously costs more. Delivery inc "apartment" extra for office and remove is more than the price of the tree. Tree looks fantastic though, well shaped and very full branches.

Which way are you going to Cradle Mountain? If via Deloraine, try the Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm Cafe.

Can't guarantee raspberries, unfortunately, last year they were 'late' (so we all pigged out in January :) )

Nah, the best experience is going out to the farm and picking your own tree AND cutting it down yourself. In the snow of course :)

That was the fun part of growing up in forestry. We had about 19,000 acres to chose our tree from!

Hideous commute this morning. That's what happens when PTV shuts down two (!!) train lines for all of December. Clearly half the displaced pax are now on the road instead, ruining what should have been a quieter month on the roads.

A work associate living in Cranbourne North is driving to Seaford R/S and catching a train currently. They normally catch a train from Merinda Park R/S.

What a great day for the aircon to fail again  Horrible sleep thanks to a hot evening and no cooling.

Is it the unit or power supply to the house?
The unit; apparently faulty motherboard. Which is what they thought was the issue last time but apparently wasnt, yet is. Pity they didnt just replace it.

When the Regional Rail Project was under construction we didn't have trains during school holidays for a 12 month period. Plus lots of other times including all of Jan 2014 without trains.

It was hard at the time but so worth it.

I think January would have been a more sensible time to do it; kids off school and lots of parents as well. December is such a busy time.

We dont have airconditioning in the bedrooms, but we do in the lounge. An old house so cant have ducted downstairs. But it takes a while to heat up with verandahs and double brick etc. And then it stays too hot and doesnt cool down. New houses totally need airconditioning though.

Even we had the aircon on last night.

Some drizzle heading your way shortly. Great top up for the lawn. Yesterday I thought it was going to be cooler but ended up being 40!,
