TomCat's new digs!

Last night our local Home Depot was a bit of a madhouse in California with folks buying real Christmas trees and loading them on their cars.

Griswolds. We saw someone with a tree on roof of the car last weekend in Melbourne. Haven’t seen that in Adelaide.

We have a 8ft real tree in my office, the delivery guys said I cant go bigger because it wont fit in the elevator... we have stairs, we can go bigger!

Bunnings have an inflatable of Santa in a ute... and something thats either a shed or an outside dunny.

But what is the need to go bigger?

Real tree next year. But it does look pretty good this year.

Still raining this morning which is great for the grass. Pups are sorted with a bone each this morning as a certain someone dug a hole in the new turf

Drizzling here in Adelaide. Not forecast. Thursday 37 then cooling off a little. Perfect for establishing a lawn.

If getting a real tree, after Christmas hunt ebay for a proper tree stand.

We have this: Cinco Classic Christmas Tree Stand Heavy Duty Made in USA + Postage | eBay

Make sure youre not gentle in spiking the tree into it as that helps the water being taken in by the tree. Our tree goes through about 2-3 x 600mls per day.
You can buy one of those at East Ivanhoe Fruit Supply when you pick up our tree if you're in Melbourne. Also, they do very good trees. If they don't like the shape they take out the trimmer and cut it back to make sure it's as perfect as possible when you get it home.

We got a tree from Oxfam once. It was delivered, which was nice, but it was sparse and badly shaped. Better to buy your own and cart it home so you know you'll get a good one, if that matters to you.

In Sydney, Dural Christmas tree farm, you can go out in Sept'ish and tag your own tree for cut down in Dec. They deliver and remove as well but obviously costs more. Delivery inc "apartment" extra for office and remove is more than the price of the tree. Tree looks fantastic though, well shaped and very full branches.

Nah, the best experience is going out to the farm and picking your own tree AND cutting it down yourself. In the snow of course :)

Well the Ring Doorbell works; was able to speak to a courier at the door. Unfortunately he still couldn't be convinced to leave my delivery.

What about the letter box drop thingy?

Coworker finally...finally got into his new home. This is the guy that couldnt open his fridge door because it would bang against the kitchen bench.

Well.... he had the kitchen benches raised by 3" because they are both tall - something I want to do as well as Im almost 6ft. Anyways..... when they installed the stove and dishwasher, they didnt add a plinth/thingy under it to raise it so the kitchen bench has a drop where the stove is and the dishwasher has a gap between bench and dishwasher because of the extra high bench tops.

Adding this to my list of "ask about/watch out for/is it on the plans!" for our build one day.

This parcel is far too big for the box....

Already upsetting the Postie? :)

Please do not use Roundup. It kills bees. We need bees. :(

I suspect that you are thinking of the neonicotinoid insecticides such as imidacloprid (trade names include Confidor).

Roundup (glyphosate) is a herbicide.

But of course, almost anything can be toxic - it depends on the dose.
