Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

[Whining&dining]

Thanks for the feedback re Eck. I bought another Heathcote wine from them (The Father Cab Sav 2019) and was very impressed.
@Whining&dining - here is some feedback re Mt Concord Shiraz 2021 - I think there are 6 cases left

Three cases left as we speak, I must admit I misinterpreted the freight charge and it works out to $45 for freight to Tas Not sure why they don't offer a reduction for a six pack but still tempted, just a bit concerned that it will be lighter-bodied than I'm used/addicted to....

That (being too lite) is exactly what prevented me from buying it. And I reckon they should offer the reduction for a sixer as they use Aramex

Delivered today after the heat from last week. Pretty happy with this haul.

I'd be keen to hear what you think of Burge Family Draycot CS

And that Merlot is like nothing you ever had - on the proviso the cork is good. As they are notorious for poor corks

Let us know your thoughts after tasting please!

Whilst I loved to hear the thoughts …
it might be a bit early to see it’s full potential (imho)
Had the 2018 last year (I think) and didn't love it.
Had the 2012 in Feb (with creamy blue cheese) and thought it was a masterstroke

I only got a couple of Draycott so not sure when I will open, unless I see more in the next sale. It's a very impressive bottle.

I also got the Gioiello Mt Concord Syrah and tried one tonight. Absolutely love it, definitely cold climate characteristics, a bit of pepper, reminds me of a Margaret River Cab Merlot. Unless that sounds weird.

Good to hear that about the Gioiello syrah, ordered some yesterday as I'd recently had a tasting of syrah vrs shiraz and was impressed with how the syrah style can be.
I phoned Olinda cellars ( to make sure delivery isn't amarax), he said it was selling very well.

Australia Post.

Adding: it's possible Au Post uses another contractor for a "final mile ", but I've never experienced it.
